Custom Toolbar [BUG#5075,5077]

Post by nynaevelan »

Now that testing the new Beta has slowed down for me I am in the process of customizing MM to suit my personal tastes. While customizing the toolbars with shortcuts which meet my needs, I noticed the ability to create a custom toolbar. MM allows the user to move the toolbar to any location within MM, however after restart the toolbar is always back at the top if it is not put into a location that a native MM toolbar would sit. Is this intended behavior, if so then the user should not be given the ability to move the toolbar to a location that it will not be able to remain in? Or this in relation to Mantis ticket 5030?

Here is a pic of where I would like my toolbar to be but it won't stay there between sessions:

Ah that's funny. I set up a toolbar in the same place as you yesterday(in lower part of the tree pane)
After reading your post I looked on my Monkey. And guess what...

Imao you should open a ticket in mantis for this.

BTW I'm still eagerly waiting for 5030. I keep on drag&dropping tool-bars accidentally several times a day
(yes I know I'm clumsy  )

I was waiting for a dev to confirm whether the two incidents were related or not, if they are related no need to open a second ticket. Besides, I'm still a little skeptical about opening tickets for my own issues. I would prefer another moderator to confirm, unless of course a crash or access violation is involved.

Ok.
(I'm not familiar at all with debugging and seeing which issues can be related... I still have to learn how it works)

I agree with you here, my testing/debugging is based on an end-user's point of view. I just try to backtrace my steps to figure out what was causing the problem. Most times this is very difficult because I am multi-tasking and it takes me a while to figure out what actions is causing the errors. For the toolbar problems I had two problems and it took me a while to realize it, then I had to figure out what was causing the problems while at the same time being musicless (Yuck, I can not concentrate without music in the background :-? ).

Should be resolved in next release 1205.
