1250: <Artist> not being used for Podcasts?

Post by cmonte77 »

Podcast subscriptions set up to download to "F:\Podcasts\<Artist>\<Artist>-<Title>", but the "<Artist>" is not being resolved in neither the filename nor the folder it's being downloaded to. All of my podcasts are downloading into a folder named "Unknown" and the files are beginning with "Unknown-". The tag for the Artist field is filling in correctly in the Track Properties dialog, but the "Download podcast to:" in the Podcast Option doesn't seem to be using it.

Maybe it's just me?

Strangely enough, I'm observing the same (only with some of my podcasts, not all of them). Generally I don't care about the podcast filenames since they are deleted after I listen to them anyway, so I never noticed this. Here's a feed that exhibits the symptom, my podcast directory is:

C:\Users\Steve\Podcasts\<Artist>-<Title>

Feed:

MediaMonkey user since 2006
Need help? Got a suggestion? Can't find something?

Please no PMs in reply to a post. Just reply in the thread.

Thanks. Tracked at:
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5738

To explain what's happening:

The podcast rss feed, in this case is missing some metadata (it doesn't contain any Artist information), so the track downloads and is saved based on whatever metadata is provided by the feed.

When the track completes downloading, MM can read it's tags. At that point, it finds out that the Artist tag=NPR, so that gets populated in the DB, however, MM doesn't re-organize the tracks into a new directory based on the metadata from the tag.

A workaround is to use the background auto-organize function.
