This forum is for reporting bugs in MediaMonkey for Windows 4. Note that version 4 is no longer actively maintained as it has been replaced by version 5.

1183 "All" node missing from portable device folders...

Post by chrisjj »

... on this Creative ZEN. EDIT: Actually I'm now thinking this is probably true on all WMDM devices. EDIT: hence missing functionalilty rather than bug.

Anyone know a workaround for seeing all tracks in a folder?

I am able to see all the tracks in the folder(s) by navigating to it but I am not able to see all tracks on the device, which is something that I would like.

Get an iPod, there's your workaround. :P *walks back out of the thread, knowing he has nothing useful to contribute, since he doesn't have a Zen*

Sounds useful to me! :)

Like I want to know: does iPod really show All sub-nodes in MM?

Yeah but you are replacing one set of problems for another. I have no intention of dealing with the restrictions Apple tries to implement, not to mention the extra cost for the name. No thank you, I will stick with Creative. I would give up MM before I converted to ipod/Appple products.

... 'course, you could just get an iPod that is no longer manufactured. Then you know Apple won't be closing off the device and you can get it cheap

  Now why would I want to purchase an outdated machine that would not be able to get any service when something goes wrong?? No, there are other manufacturers I would select before Apple. I have been with Creative for too many years to switch unless they blunder massively. I am still hoping the devs can and will give us a Creative specific plugin that would give us non-ipod users more functionality. As a side note, one night I will steal my sons ipod to test it with MM to see if it is worth possibly converting.

This lack of functionailty is surely down to the MM main app rather than any plug-in. It's a matter of data presentation, not acquisition.

... so why would you think that the plugin acquires the information but does not display it? Seems more logical that the plugin would not retrieve the data from the device.

The fact I can see it in the track list.

By "This functionality" I was referring to the "All" node missing from portable device folders... of this topic.

Seems you're referring to some additional data.
