Multimedia Keys on Cherry no longer working properly [#5517]

Post by childofkorn »

Hi, I have the following Keyboard:
Cherry Evolution Stream
http://www.computerbase.de/forum/attach ... 1237121798

Since the last "Update" to the RC of MM i realized that the Multimedia Keys for skip, previous and pause no longer work properly.
with every skip - MM will skip 3 tracks instead of going to the next.
Pause does also not work well: after every pause i need to press pause several times to continue playing.

Specs: I use MM 3.1 RC1, on a Win XP w. SP3, 2GB RAM, Plugins: Isotope Ozone & last.fm service
With the isotope plugin disabled all works well. Which is kind of funny, because AFAIR before the update it was working well.

maybe you can check it, if i've got the time i am willing to give it a try to downgrade again and check it as well.
thanks

What exactly is the isotope ozone plugin and why would it be affecting your hotkeys?

Ozone is a DSP plugin. There's a special version for Winamp (http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/media/ozone.html) which is rather old and a professional version (http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/) used for mastering which includes a vst plugin (that can be used with the vst plugin bridge plugin in MediaMonkey). However, I don't know why it would affect the hotkeys.

I'm having the exact same problem as well with the forward and back multimedia keys on my Dell Vostro 1700 laptop running the Windows 7 Beta and the MM RC. I will jump forward or back 3 songs when the problem occurs. But the problem is sporadic - sometimes the keys works properly. This just started happening to me a few MM versions ago. Before that I never had this problem. I thought it had something to do with Windows 7 though.. :-?

I just got for a gift A4Tech Oscar X-748K Mouse and I was able to observe similar issue until I made key repeat rate >300 ms after which all worked OK.

same issue with laptop media keys, but was able to fix by deleting the sketchy hotkeys for media buttons, then make sure the hotkey does not work if deleted, this let me know nothing else was getting in the way.
then adding the hotkey again just as it was before, so maybe make a note before deleting the entry. have not had the issue in since with next track skipping songs. worth a try till fixed, i know it can be frustrating

This was resolved in build 1237. Can you confirm what build you're on?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with my Dell XPS M1530 multimedia keys. When I press next, it skips 2 instead of 1 like it should. I'm on build 1240

JuBe, could you please generate a debug log using the DbgView app and build 1242?
- Download the DbgView application from: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... gview.mspx
- Execute DbgView.
- Run MediaMonkey (build 1242 - the newest one) and you will see the log being generated to the DbgView app window.
- Hit the media key
- Save the log to a file and upload it by using a free service like RapidShare or YouSendIt.com
- attach the link to the shared file here.

Thank you.

Could JuBe or someone that can reproduce this create the debug log as I requested in my previous post?
I would need to know whether it is still reproducable in 1242 and if yes then I would need to see the debug log.
Thx.

In build 1257 the multimedia keys started skipping a track when going forward or back. Fixed by deleting the hotkey and remaking it.

There is no 1257. The last build is 1256: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 34522&sd=d
, did you meant 1256?
