BUG#5947 now I'm getting get a crackle-bang sound

Post by theloniouscoltrane »

Same trouble with Apple's latest update as everyone else. So I installed MM 3.1.2.1266, uninstalled QT, reinstalled newest QT, changed name of d_iPhone.dll to d_iPhone.dll.old, and re-opened MM 3.1.2.1266 and now, at the beginning of some songs (40-50%) I get a loud crackle-bang sound. Driving me crazy. Please help!

I have the same issue, just to report it. I installed iTunes 9, but I'm not using an iPhone (or even iPod). MM now plays well, but like a little blurt of inter-station radio noise between tracks. I installed Beat 1266 with "Debug" in title.

What file types does this issue occur with? Does switching output plugin under Tools > Options > Output plug-ins make any difference?

I've tried both out_mmds.dll and out_wave.dll, both with the same results.

The problem happens on wav and mp3. The only other files I have are flac and I haven't tried those.

Hi,

We're unable to reproduce this. If you observe this issue can you:
a) tell me what OS you're using
b) send a debug log as described at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

Thanks!

Here is my system info http://screencast.com/t/TvPRvqbSK5l

I already sent the bug file in through a ticket.
Windows 8 64-bit, AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Six Core Processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics, 8gb memory, MM Gold, only the plug-ins that come with MM, just the scripts that come with MM, using MM Wasapi output to an RME Fireface 800 (which is also 400 compatible) running through Firewire 400 cable into PC.

I haven't had the problem in two days. I deleted my scripts file and my plug-ins file, then installed 1267. I am using the MM Direct Sound Output. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks again for the help. I wish I knew what caused it, but I'm glad it seems to be gone.

BTW just for the Record I hate Gigabyte for using lowcost/scrapped Realtek HD Audio Chip (ALC 2100) that are known to make issues. Try todownload driver from realtek even they say it is not supported. Didn't I mention I hate gigabyte for that.

What version of MM, what file types, what output/input plugins are you using (if not the default)? When do you hear the sound (between tracks, during tracks, at the beginning, etc.)?

MM 3.1.2.1267
File types: Mp3, FLAC, WAV, WMA
Input plugins: the eight that come standard with MM
Output plugin: MediaMonkey Direct Sound Output
When do I hear the sounds?: only at the beginning of songs and it happens 40-50% of the time. I get a loud crackle-bang sound.

Can you replicate the problem with the newest beta build?
