make a new skin or copy one of your old skins and rename it by opening the theme.mskn file in the theme engine then close it and load the msz file in the skins folder under the new name. and check the skin tell me if the album art aaview bmp shows up then on your system and if your system is xp vista or win 7 now. :-?

cause it ain't working on xp pro. :(

To be clear:

Are you talking about the missing art image in AA+details/AA view? Or are you talking about the background of those views?

Either way it still works fine here. (Win 7 and XP SP3)

the background bmp it is not showing.

it works on all the skins but this new update one and it should as this update is from one that was using the background bmp and that one still shows the background bmp.

i have tried every other theme in all my skins. i just moved them to this one. saved them and they don't work with this skin. once they are in the theme engine getting the images for this skin that is.

if i just save the skin with the other skin's theme.mskn files and images from its skin then i get a mixed up skin of this new update and the other theme.
that will allow the background aaview bmp to be seen. but if i open any of the theme.mskn files in the theme engine and say change just the color of the font on the list view normal. then save it then load the msz file of this new skin in the skins folder the aaview bmp will NOT show. as said in the other post i had been doing it the way of the old 3.0 skinning. but i realized that and started the way the last few skins i made were done. and it won't show even doing the skin that way.

i have even tested it out on other skins. i copied my old skin of say airstream. just to pick a name. and i changed the font color in one of the fonts to it then saved the theme.mskn and then i rezipped up the files to an new name say ? air stream 3.msz and put that in the skins folder. the aaview bmp does not show.

its the skin files touching this theme engine 7 that is messing up. if i don't use it and just mix and match the skin's mskn files i already have i can get the aaview bmp to show. so it has to be in the skin theme engine that is causing the trouble or in the program. i just can't figure it out, as soon as i get an okay back on this updated skin i'm doing for the person i can name it to the proper name and send it to petrcbr or rusty, but since it happens with only newly made or updated skins it can't be the file. :o

found more info.

got screenshots from person i'm changing a skin for. they use windows 7.

they are getting the aa view to show. but strangly it is not the aaview bmp, it is the list view bmp that is showing
in both the list view and the aaview in windows 7.

in the aaview when in the library node. the image is stretched to beyond the size in height it was made like
you looking in the mirror and seeing you with a 3400 pound beer gut. when you only have a 10 pound beer gut.

but in xp it does not even show the listview bmp in the aaview it just shows the default monkey image which is all white with a black monkey on it. the aaview bmp is there in the skin file. and so is the listview bmp. the list view works fine on the listview areas so does the tree view and the now playing view.

the only one that does not show is the aaview.

but as i said the windows 7 is confusing the list view bmp with the aaview bmp and is even changing the size of the image when it uses the listview bmp in the other areas. on windows 7.

when viewing the album art view in the library node. it does allow you to see the top and bottom of the listview image in windows 7, but when you use the album art view on playlists node, it does not allow you to see the top and bottom of the image. it is stretched to just show the top half of the image.
but it is not to show the listview when in the album art with detials views any place, it is to show the aa view there.

but it is not. and it is not in win7 and win xp in win 7 it is showing the listview bmp there. and in win xp it is not showing any background bmp in the album art with detials view.

got more info from the windows 7 user.

windows 7 is using the now playing view bmp or the list view bmp as in this skin they are both the same.

but it will not see the aaview bmp.

windows 7 is also stretching the single image's like the long image of the original default skins to the full
height of the display area of the list view area for viewing it in the album art with details view. in either the playlist node or the libray node which ever you are in when you view the album art with details node.

it has also changed to showing the height of the one image in the listview area with the text as equal to the height of one line of text height. it was showing that as two lines of text per one image's heigth.
making it appear like two lines of text on each louver of the blinds.

but windows xp does not show any image for the album art view with details in any node you view it in.
and it does not see the listview bmp as the aaview bmp. so something has changed in your coding for monkey
that makes win7 change it way of seeing the images and in doing that it has mucked up xp's viewing of the sdb_background bmp's

i can't for the like of me see why not.? :-? :o

if i take a theme.mskn from any of the skins i made prior to this one i'm trying to make.

and use it in the msz file for the player with this new skin.

i end up with a new player on the old theme.mskn
all the stuff works.

if i take that old theme.mskn file and edit anything in it in the theme engine.
then save it. and zip it up with the new player mskn to make the new player msz

i end up with the edited theme.mskn file the new player mskn file but the new skin when viewed
in either the msz mode or the folders and files being unzipped,

the new skin will not see the aaview bmp in windows Xp. how ever in windows 7. it will show either
the playlist view bmp or the list view bmp in the area for the aaview bmp but not in the propper size.

it happens with all the old theme.mskn files if i edit them and with any new theme.mskn file, does not matter
the only thing that is connecting them is the fact that the theme.mskn files are edited in the theme engine 7 program that is the only thing that is messing up. its driving me nuts cause i have one theme i made with 1261 and it works fine after that any i edit in the theme engine mess up on xp.

Is anyone else seeing this? If yes, can you explain in 50 words or less (preferably with a picture)? My mind is a little fried, and I'm having trouble parsing this...

musicbringer can send you screenshots of how it shows up in windows 7.

i can send you screen shots of how it shows up in xp pro but i'm still having trouble and am using dial up cause the wireless decided to not work anymore.

so it will be awhile.

musicbringer should send album art views to you from the library node for artists, and fro the playlist node.

both are different displays but the same image is being used. which is not the correct image.

i'll do the same type and show you what it looks like here. ( :( or more to the point of how it doesn't look here :( )

i don't know how it was made to work for you on your system. i use skins. so i checked that option to use skin images and not the ones provieded by you for default.

i read your ventis report but this is more then just that. because i believe windows 7 is doing one twist to this bug which is why i said musicbringer could send you the screenshots.

but now that you have mine, i can tell you in words again and you might understand more.

window 7 shots that i got show the list view background bmp , or the now playing playlist background bmp. (as they are the same one for both in this skin.) as the one being used for the aaview background bmp.

now knowing that and seeing what they are too look like in the xp original skin. you will notice or should notice that the aaview is showing the one louver in the display area. on windows 7. and on xp it is multiplying the one louver to show the whole display area as a real world window blind like you can see behinde your curtains.

so windows 7 is not treating the image the same.

but in order to see them you need screenshots and musicbringer is the only one i know that got that in a screenshot for me.

as to why jiri said it might not be needed in mm 3.2 i don't know? what are you doing changing the way we skin things? if so hows about a heads up on what we need to change in the skins?
