Save different column settings

Different tasks require different column settings. It would be nice to be able to save these settings and recall them as needed. Ideally, via a toolbar.

I already have made a similar request (although I right now cannot find it any more). I suggested that all different views/library nodes have their own view that gets saved each time you change it.

And a view must consist of
- The chosen columns
- The width of each column
- The order of the columns
- The sorting criteria for the displayed titles

A way - as you suggest - to additionally have definable views (via buttons or menu or context menu or whatever) would make it perfect.

If nodes could be assigned their own view that would be great too.

Just to add my two cents to the devs, please make this an OPTION, not a new way the software works. The way it is now works just fine for me. There should also be a way to restore everything to a particular view for anyone who uses it, then decides to go back or reset everything for a time.

All of a sudden I'm getting view nausea thinking of how Microsoft really messed this up in Outlook 2003...

By the way, not reigning on anyone's parade - these are excellent ideas!
