Madmark555 wrote:Hello everybody,
I am worried because i have read this thread and my problem seems to be similar but even more serious.
I have been a registered user of mediamonkey for months and it worked so well, i cannot do without MM now.
Two days ago i bought an ipod nano 5G and so i installed the gas factory coming with it (itunes 9).
Now MM crashes everytime. So i uninstalled every piece of apple software. MM kept crashing.
So i uninstalled MM as well and reinstalled it. It keeps crashing. I dont know what to do now.
As i can read mp3 and flacs in other softwares i think it's really an MM internal problem.
What i dont understand is that i uninstalled itunes and everything coming with it, so why does MM keep crashing.....
I forgot to say i am on vista home32 SP2.
The message i got when MM crashes is : "MediaMonkey - Audio Library a cessé de fonctionner" (i'm french and it means the "audio library crashed").

If someone has any ideo how i could get MM to work again, i would be deeply grateful.

Thx.

UPDATE 10/31/09
I installed beta MediaMonkey 3.1.2.1282 RC-2, and it didn't fix the problem. MM keeps crashing as soon as i try to play a file. I get the same message about the audio library stopping (it's a windows message).

I fear I am having a similar problem to this. I have used the workaround mentioned previously (renaming the files to .OLDdll) and MM works perfectly for an hour or two, but then pops up with the "Audio Library Crashed" message this user mentioned and closes. I then have to re-open MM and get a few more hours out of it. It's not a huge problem, but is a mild annoyance which I'm sure could probably be avoided.

Does anyone know what latest version of Quicktime will work with MM. I have not installed itunes, but I do need QT.

Any word from MM about a solution?

Thanks

Hi Guys

Just a very quick question - have tried to search through the thread, but getting sidetracked/confused.

I have MM Gold 3.1.1.1261 and Windows Vista
I'm thinking about buying an Ipod Classic 160GB.
Will it be possible to completely avoid having to install iTunes at all? Never owned an ipod, but want the 160GB storage.
I'm hoping that MM will be able to manage all music on the ipod.

I won't buy the iPod if I have to install iTunes.
Thanks for your help.

Only if you install the beta version of MM are they compatible.

Hey MM Crew,

First off, THANKS. I've been a technical product manager for a big software company, and trying to keep up with Microsoft et al is a pain and a half, even with non-disclosures, access to internal builds, etc. I can only imagine how much fun y'all are having. Those who are complaining about not keeping up are frustrated (as are we all) but have no idea of the realities involved.

I've got a gold license, so unless you guys set up a paypal donate button (hint) I'm kind of a sunk cost - might be a cool xmas present for the geeks in my extended family, hm. Volume or friend-of-a-friend discount? Anyway, beer's on me next time I'm in Montreal (rare) or Prague (assumption) . . .

Cheers

I was having syncing issues with my ipod classic 160GB with an error message for every single song.

This was fixed by running MM as administrator. If anyone else has this problem, it worked for me.

iPod firmware 3.1.2?

Postby MyCsPiTTa » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:39 pm

Does the latest MM work with the latest iPod touch firmware 3.1.2? I really want to be able to use the iTunes feature to arrange my icons (unless someone knows another way), but I've learnt my lesson about upgrading my iPod without checking MM compatibility...

Ummm, I beg to disagree... I have an iPod 80GB, and prior to purchasing my iPhone 3GS, I did NOT have iTunes installed and MM and the iPod worked perfectly. The only reason I needed iTunes was to re-set the iPod back to factory defaults and/or upgrade the firmware. I did this through a VM machine so that I didn't have to install iTunes on my primary machine.

Maybe the 160GB does need iTunes, but I suspect not. (The iPhone definitely needs iTunes.)

You don't need I-Tunes with an ipod. I hated the software since before I owned my ipod so I am sure of this fact. I bought it and immediately installed and used MM to handle my files and put them on my ipod.

Also I've been having this same problem based only on having just installed quicktime. I don't blame mediamonkey at all, i consider this another problem with apple.

Just to vent I will say I consider the updating and other multiple programs apple automatically installs to be malware (I am aware it's not the proper use of the word per se). I have my problems with microsoft too definitely, but apple makes their stuff way too "all inclusive" to be user friendly for me.
