Track length

Post by trixmoto »

The track length (time) of some tracks is not always correct. I've been reliably informed that this is because the length is calculated using track size and bitrate so those with variable bitrate don't work.

This has been discussed here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 3158#23158

Is it possible that MM could store the actual length of tracks once they have been played?

Or, how about a script that would do it on demand ? That way you only need to force a recalculation of the length when you know you have a problem with specific tracks.

How would a script do it? The whole point is that you need to be at the end of the track to know how long it is because it cannot be calculated.

Good point.
I guess I'm just searching for options. Some of the clever stuff that I have seen done in scripts, and the huge array of methods and properties available to script writers just gave me the thought that there might be a clever way !
