My concern is that I encode all my songs at high bitrates for the best sound quality. I'm usually encoding anywhere between 320kbs-192kbs MP3 constant bitrate. So when I sync my songs from my PC to my iPod are they staying at the same bitrate they started at, or can these config settings force them to be reencoded by MM during the sync to a lower bitrate?
Or do these settings just come into play, if I try to sync a song from my PC to the iPod in a format which the iPod does not support? If that is the case, can someone explain to me what these settings mean? The "Above 128kb" and "between 0 and 128" each assigned to "incompatible" really has me confused.
I mean, I look at the column "Format On the PC" and it lists 3 items, 2 of them are "incompatible" and the other is "Any". So an "incompatible Format on the PC" or "Any format on the PC"?????? So WTF does that mean??? And what does checking or unchecking the check box do?
