I am sure that this is covered somewhere but I have spent a fair amount of the free time I have had today failing to find an answer. Thanks in advance.

I have an 32GB iPod Touch running 3.1.2 and am using MM

I am using iTunes to synch movies, podcasts, apps and for backups. Occasionally I use it for music too. (Well it's been years since I used it and I wanted to see what it was like nowadays). The important thing is that I want to use iTunes and MM.

I don't really want to do proper automated synching, just occasional add and remove stuff. I am not interested in doing anything complicated (yet).

I have a number of playlists in MM however that I would love to have on my iPod. I have synched/exported them directly to my iPod from MM but when I boot iTunes it decides it doesn't like them and deletes them. The tracks remain intact.

I have attempted to use the export to itunes script, this has only copied the playlist name (along with all the zzz emplty playlists) and no actual track names.

Reading my iPod manual (radical I know) it would appear that synching/exporting the playlist from MM then selecting that as an 'On the Go' playlist is the way forward. This for some reason didn't work for me either. I've now got 4.5GBs of music on my ipod that neither itunes or my ipod can't or won't see.

finally, exporting as an m3u playlist from MM was one option I looked at but then I end up with duplicates in itunes. It looks like the best option at the moment.

anyway...... Is there a simple solution to my problem? Or is it complex and convoluted and dependent on how I mange my MP3 library - I have only one copy of every file and don't let itunes manage my mp3s.

Thanks for reading - if you made it his far.

Has anyone run into an issue whereby MM starts to copy the ENTIRE LIBRARY every sync instead of just the changes?

Its even affecting my phone (mass storage device) so I think its a general MM 'bug' not ipod specific....

Thanks, don't think thats the issue however. (My PC and ipod both have correct time, I checked. And my mp3 collection hasn't been retagged or altered significantly since the issue started happening. Note it didn't use to happen)

Has anyone had the issue where MM synced all your music to the iPod (2nd Gen. Touch 32gb) but the iPod doesn't recognize the music as being in its library? I checked the iPod itself, and the space is being used up by the music - but nothing shows up in the library...

Yes, I finally got around to syncing my iphone to MM after about 5 months of no music on my phone and it's showing up as taking space but not showing up in my iTunes library :(

I can't edit because I didn't log in, so sorry for the double post...

I fooled around with my iPhone some more and it turns out that when MM crashed it may have corrupted my iTunes dB. The only workaround I was able to find was to restore the device (or if you have some method of going into the filesystem you can find the files and delete them and rebuild the dB from iTunes).

Hey, I've recently turned to MediaMonkey as an alternative to iTunes because iTunes no longer works for me. And I don't mean that it doesn't have the features that I want, I simply mean that it doesn't work anymore.

Recently, I had a nasty little incident with my ipod, one that included water. The ipod still works perfectly fine on its own, no problems playing music and videos or anything when disconnected. In fact, it's perfectly fine save for one thing: no matter what version of iTunes I have installed when I plug it in, iTunes crashes and burns. No solution is available as far as I'm concerned.

Being a PC user, MediaMonkey turned out to be the perfect choice for me. I can sync my music just fine, and it can read everything on my ipod. Only thing it can't read from the iPod is videos, and seeing as I can no longer use iTunes for that, I need an alternative.

Any chance that there might be a plugin in development out there allowing MM3 to play and handle mp4 format videos? And if not, could you suggest a good alternative for video and photo handling concerning my ipod? For future reference, the ipod I'm using is an 80 gig classic.

Thanks in advance.

Probably answered but,

How come when I use Media Monkey to sync, my podcast don't go into the podcast folder?

It depends on the iPod model, but some iPods only allow "m4b" files to be in the Podcast section of the iPod.

I have gotten an iPod 5th generation to synch my music for my wife's new car. I bought the device on eBay but i am not sure it is OK. When I plug it in, Windows wants to format it. I have added all the drivers for MM, but it does not recognize it as a iPod, rather it sees it as a USB device. Is it MM or the device???

Is there any hope, or should I just use iTunes (gasp....)?
