Re: Batch Art Finder 3.2 - Updated 29/12/2009
I have another problem.
After the first scan (barr below) it says that it has found 602. Then the pop-up screen comes up and it begins searching for the images. But I don't get ANY results. remember that i tryed this a few months ago and it did get results for almost everything.
What can i do to fix this?
Thank you
(great script btw)

Thanks Trix, your work is very much appreciated.trixmoto wrote:Not at the moment. I thought that the artist name would be used if the album artist is blank, but it's not, so I will add this in the next version.

Do you get images loading and then disappearing, or do you just get "[No results]" appearing straight away?

I like mediamonkey. I would really like to use it in command line mode in a biterscripting script. Are there any sample scripts someone can post, or point me in that directions, plz ? Thanks.

Re: Batch Art Finder 3.2 - Updated 29/12/2009
1. Is there is an option to select that art is searched by Artist not by Album artist? (though it rights in the Batch art finder's window Artist: under the Album:).
This is closer to functionality of searching album art per each selected track. Can it be done?
2. I have selected Min/Max width and height (300 all 3 values). Now what happens it downloads image from google (my preferable source) shows image and if the parameters do not match it starts downloading next image, and then next....
Without giving me any time to react.
However, at least for google source, it should be possible not to download all those - not size matched images.
You can specify (at least directly in google) imagesize:300x300.
Would be nice to have an option not tot download not matching images.
Additional option request - download only squared images, e.g. 100X100, 200X200, 450X450 px or very close to squared form (with only a few pixels difference), and not something like Size: 252x333 (it is more than 30% difference in H/W).
3. Is there is an option to replace the existing image when saving? I have selected "Storage type: In tag only (delete image)", but it seems that it is not it - it still adds an image to tags, so there cold be multiple images.
4. Would be nice to have an option to download and show, say 3 images, per album and select from them, and not only one and then click next, next, next.

Re: Batch Art Finder 3.2 - Updated 29/12/2009
1) No this is not currently possible.
2) When I first wrote this script I don't think that was an option, but I will try to add that into the next version and see if this improves things. The idea is that you don't have time to react though, because you've already said you don't want the image. You can't not download not matching images because I can't check if it is not matching until it has been downloaded. You can use the "Max. diff." option to only get square(ish) images though.
3) "In tag only (delete image)" should delete the image file after it has been embedded into the track. At the moment there are no options for deleting image tags already in the track. For this, try my "Album Art Tagger" script.
4) This has already been requested. I am going to attempt it in the next version.

"Does anyone have any advice on where I can turn to for the other unidentified album covers that BAF does not deliver. I have tried the preset databases within BAF but am still missing a number of covers?

I have used Google search but change from searching 'Web' to 'Images'. I haven't tried looking for anything out of the mainstream though.

Thanks for a reply, trixmoto. Eagerly waiting for updates
I thought that it should be possible to read some metadata (size) before loading the whole image. Have concluded so, because very often you can see (on slower connections or/and big images it is especially good to see) how the space on the web-page is allocated first, and then the image starts downloading.

Re: Batch Art Finder 3.2 - Updated 29/12/2009
This is done in HTML by specifying the width and height to match the image, this is not received from the image itself.

Hm, and if it is not an HTML page? How it works then?
Open

Before the image is loaded completely it is already resized in a way to match the browser window size (with option to zoom to actual level). I do not see how it is possible without having the information about the size beforehand.

I'm not sure what you mean, the width is known as soon as you have the first line of pixels but you don't know the height until it's finished. I'm using Chrome, maybe your browser is doing something different?

Re: Batch Art Finder 3.2 - Updated 29/12/2009
In Firefox, when you open up an image, it will list the type and dimensions (both width and height) in the titlebar while the image is still loading. Don't know if this is relevant to the discussion taking place between you two... but... *shrugs*
Re: Batch Art Finder 3.2 - Updated 29/12/2009
I've researched this further. JPG files (and probably other image types too) have metadata embedded in them, very much like a music file does. In this metadata the images height and width are stored and it is these that Firefox uses to set the image size before it has finished loading. However, I do not have access to this information so I can't do the same thing, sorry.
