I just upgraded to MM 3.2.0.1294 on both my PC and laptop. I play my iPod Classic at work on my PC and after the upgrade when I click "Safely Remove Device" I get a Problem Ejecting iPod error (The device cannot be stopped now. It appears to be in use by another application.) I do not have this problem on my laptop. I also tested on a friend's PC with MM 1294 installed and no problem ejecting in MM. FYI, my PC is an HP xw8400 workstation running Win XP SP3; my laptop is an IBM Thinkpad T42 running WinXP SP3. Both machines have iTunes 9.0 installed.
Other potentially pertinent info: 1) If I open MM and connect my iPod but don't play it, I can eject it. It only gets "locked" after I play some music. 2) If I close MM with the iPod still connected I can then eject it using XP's Safely Remove Hardware in the system tray. 3) Under Options --> Portable/Audio Devices are various plug-ins. On my laptop, my iPod is recognized as both an iPod (using d_iPod.dll and is checked) and a disk drive (using d_WMDM.dll but is unchecked). On my PC, however, my iPod is only recognized as an iPod (using d_iPod.dll). Could it be that my iPod Classic is also being accessed as a hard drive and that is preventing me from ejecting it?
Thanks,
amallen

I am also having this problem. Have you found anything that worked yet?

This is a known bug: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6256.
I don't have a work-around within MM. My current method is to exit MM with my iPod still mounted/attached. Then I eject the device using Safely Remove Hardware in the taskbar. (I am running Win XP Pro).
