Lowlander, the last thing you said sounds what I need!
I am really not sure what the syncing bit is and I don't export the tracks to an ipod or anything similar. In the past I might have had a track in the playlist twice with a message telling me it already exists there and do I wish to add again. I then was able to right click and send that playlist to burn which gave a disc that played EXACTLY how the playlist would play just on a car stereo instead of PC. Now it won't and I don't know why.
Sorry if it sounds like I am repeating myself but I am not sure if my issue is being discussed or something else.

OK LL, I thought otherwise because you said otherwise: "if you setup a sync with a playlist with dupe tracks and sync it, it doesn't work either."Lowlander wrote:Actually I wasn't even syncing the playlist, I never do.
No problem... but then your bug report http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6343 "3) Auto-Sync Playlist" needs correcting.
The MM device profile doesn't have support specifically for non-playlist players. I agree that if it did, that would nice, and then Auto-sync should do as you say.Lowlander wrote:The user still should be able to sync the same track twice if it's twice in a playlist. Some users/players don't use playlists and would still like to have the track twice
Some might say that when 'Copy playlists' is uncheckmarked, MM should copy repeat tracks, but I'm not sure.

@GRW, yes your bug has been entered in Mantis already.
@ChrisJJ, I see your point and assume an option in the Auto-Sync settings to force copy of duplicate tracks might be a better solution. This way those using playlists wouldn't need to copy the same track twice, but gives those who do want duplicate copies the option to have them.

I agree this needs fixing. IT has been filed as a bug and we can only wait.GRW wrote: I then was able to right click and send that playlist to burn which gave a disc that played EXACTLY how the playlist would play just on a car stereo instead of PC. Now it won't and I don't know why.
Meanwhile a workaround: to render the playlist to a new track set, using Auto-Organise Files with Copy files to new destination based on track tags and Destination: c:\temp\MM\<Auto Number>, then (being sure to sort by filename) burn that track set to DVD.

But I must say I would prefer effort went first into fixing the bugs that obstruct Auto-sync use by me and I'd guess many others.

Thanks all, didn't realise it had been raised as it was a few weeks before this thread was originally answered - I had to bump it up 3 times. Thanks again.

ChrisJJ confirmed your bug so it was time to add it to Mantis as it's reproducible.
