Date format not sticking [#9115]

Post by Pete76 »

Hi there,

Using MM 3.1.0.1256 on Windows 7 RC.

I have an infuriating issue with the "Last Played" column. When MM starts up the date/time format is incorrect, in fact it doesn't even match the system setting. For example:

8/30/2009 4:47PM

I'm in Europe, I prefer the Europe date setting.

If I then enter the control panel and change my wallpaper, the time and date in MM automatically correct themselves to the system setting, ie:

30/08/2009 16:47

Is this a Windows 7 / MM related bug? Anything I can do to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, came across this thread when googling, and figured I'd bump it as I'm having a similar problem.

I'm currently using Windows 7 Home Premium and MM 3.2.0.1294

I've the same issue with the date format being different in the 'Last Played' tab of MM, with it showing the month first, rather than the day.

Also, it fixes if I change the wallpaper in Windows Control Panel, but I don't fancy doing that everytime I turn the comp on.

I understand it's more of a preference issue than a bug, but if anyone can shed some light on a permanent fix, it'd be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bug to me. Can others on alternative date formats confirm this as well?

I'm hoping others can, it's starting to become a lil annoying... It's something that hasn't been discovered yet maybe, due to the different MM versions between mine and Pete76's?

I get the same thing. Windows 7 Ultimate set to use European date format (14/5/2010).
I also have to set a wallpaper to make it display the correct way.

Just bumping this back up again - the problem still exists, now using MM 3.2.0.1294 on Windows 7 Home Premium. It's still driving me nuts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's a different problem entirely. The dates appear, but they're just in the wrong format.

Hi there

I have the same problem with the Europe date formatting not sticking. It's not just the last played date - it's any date-type column in MM. I don't change my wallpaper though (never even knew that would work lol) - I just go into the date/time settings in Windows, make a small change to the date format then change it back again so I have to hit Apply. I'm running the latest MM version on W7 Home Prem 64-bit. It never happened on XP.

And I agree with pete76, not the same problem.

Hi there, Is there a moderator who is prepared to agree this is not the same problem and log it as a new issue? Please! This is really annoying.

Date Format not sticking

Post by kiwichick »

There's nothing happening in this thread:

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =1&t=53162

so hopefully there'll be more luck if another thread is started.

Like others in the above thread, I use a European date format dd/mm/yyyy but MM insists in displaying any date format column as mm/dd/yyyy. I can temporarily fix it if I go into the date/time settings in Windows, make a small change to the date format then change it back again so I have to hit Apply. Then I refresh the view in MM and the date format changes and displays correctly. But I have to do this every single time I start MM. To say this is annoying is a bit of an understatement. And it also affects playlists/filters/nodes that rely on date formats because they don't see the date correctly (even after the fix) and I get weird results.
