HTC desire (android phone) music sync

Post by eske »

Just wondering if anyone else has synced playlists to an android phone with mediamonkey

i've been using media monkey for years and have synced every device i've ever owned ipod touch, samsung i8910 phone, many sony ericssons, creative mp3 players etc

but when i cable up the HTC desire it registers like a USB drive (viewable from my computer but not as a media device in media monkey)

any ideas a to how organize syncing my playlists?

I'm getting the feeling I'm missing something obvious here.

Do I need to enable a setting in MM to make it see the Desire asa media device and not an external drive?

Well I'm jealous because I want an HTC Desire, but unfortunately I don't have one yet! :)
Download my scripts at my own MediaMonkey fansite.
All the code for my website and scripts is safely backed up immediately and for free using Dropbox.

@trixmoto dude it really is the most amazing phone

the instant "over the air" syncs between your contacts and your google address book and google calander are simply brilliant ... and syncing "just works" for a change - i always had difficulty getting sony ericsson and samsung devices to sync properly
the apps evernote forrsquare, google tasks, maps, layer facebook, googles, delicious, twiccc it makes it a pleasure to use ....

seriously loving this phone

but would really love to get proper MM syncing sorted

I can copy music over

but I love the more complex syncs you can do when a device registers properly

Does anyone know how to sync the metadata between MM and HTC Desire/Android?

It's no problem for me to sync the songs and playlists, but it would be great if I could sync play count, recently played, played # and so on.

In that way, MM would have updated this information in MM, based upon what you do with your android-phone.

Anyone got any ideas?

No MTP connection in Android as far as I know, and I will assume that the player does not update any tag that MM could find useful, so we are out of luck.

I can use MediaMoneky to sync my music folder om my PC to my Desire but it won't end up in the folder that I want? With all other devices it works fine but now all music ends up in the root folder of my Desire (F:)? Why? I want it to end up in f:\Music\.

A big THANKS from me too, this worked a charm!!

But I have a question about the album art, this is not syncing with my music, is there a 'flag' somewhere (I.e. a tickbox or similar) I need to enable to bring across the cover art as well?

Cheers.

EDIT: NVM, I found it under Device Configuration!
