As far as I know there is no open bug regarding this, which means there is no known issue in this area (because there are no reliable reproduction steps, no debug logs, etc.) as of the latest version of MM.qazwsxedcrfvg wrote:bump
Half year later the problem is still here.
Sometimes album art is shown... Very often on a page of "Show Album Art" view there is more than 75% of the albums not generated. The generation is slow as well.
Maintain Library functionality does not help in any way.
I have ALL album arts embedded into tags.
Database problem?
I have cleared my library and re-read again. Same, same....
Will anything be done regarding this. We can wait, just to know that something will be done, some day, will make us happy

Re: album art not showing up
I am using the latest version.
hm, I have done a radical thing:
Tools->Advanced Tag Management->Clean ID3v1 and v2 Tags...
Tools->Advanced Tag Management->Synchronize Tags
[I did it also because if I did "File->Clear Library" and then rescan the folder again, MediaMonkey somehow got Album Artist changed from "Various" to a particular artist if it was the only one in the album, and some other tagging changing my system.
So I thought maybe there are some tag-artefacts... ]
Now I have all albums in
View->Show Album Art
&
View->Show Album Art with details
generated really smoothly every time. Maybe that is the cause of the problem of bad album art generation - album art being saved in tags, instead as a file in folder. And MM tries to read tags every time (I have Auto organize feature on).
The problemnow - there are no album art images in tags any more. Those album covers are taken from some place only MediaMonkey knows about (something like temporary buffer?).
The question:
How could I restore my 300 Album Covers into tags? (Though, other embedded album art is lost as well, but at least restore album covers, with low resolution).
Is there a hope at least for that?

Re: album art not showing up
If the images are stored in the mp3 tags only, and you clear the tags, then the art is gone. Try the "batch art finder" script. It should not take that long to find only 300 album covers.qazwsxedcrfvg wrote:This is a problem I encountered while trying to resolve another one, related to bad album art rendering in album art view.

Re: album art not showing up
thanks for a reply.
I will try "batch art finder" 2nd time, first time when I tried it yesterday - nothing happened when I pressed that Google button, confirmed that I want to search for 1 Album only, and that was it. Now (after 2nd install) a search window appears after that. It sucks that it does not search without "album artist" because I tagged all to Various, so that in Album view, all were viewed after another (without dividing it alphabetically and living a lot of free space).
Sorry for double post in other topic. I thought that in this current topic - it is about album art rendering in the view browser. And the question about how to restore - was not directly related to rendering.

Re: album art not showing up
I have started to add album art. Often if I drag and drop a picture onto the album thumbnail it updates (saves into tags) but not shows in MM with updated tag. If I double click on album thumbnail - song start playing and I can see from an Album preview an updated image. Only if I change view (e.g. go to another node and than back) than I see an updated image of the album thumbnail.
I believe this behaviour is closely related to bad album art rendering, which started this whole thread.
Have some one experienced the same?
Edit: Some thumbnails are not updated (e.g. old picture shows in Album view), though there is a new picture in tags (and the only one).

Bump because this stupid bug won't go away.
Re: album art not showing up
I've had this problem forever - as I scroll down through the list, most of the album art will not display until I hit refresh, and then as I scroll further down it will again begin to not display. I am meticulous about tagging and finding quality album art, and all art is stored in tags only.
This has persisted through multiple versions and from my old computer to a completely new build on a new OS. Hilariously, the program is taxing my Core-i5 at ~20% just to generate thumbnails, but still not doing it properly.
A restart of the program "fixes" the problem temporarily, but after a few minutes it's back to its old tricks and devolves into displaying maybe 1 in 10 thumbnails. The CPU usage seems to rise over time as well.

Re: album art not showing up
Still no solution here. The problem is still occurring 80%-90% of the time.
Windows 8 64-bit, AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Six Core Processor, ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics, 8gb memory, MM Gold, only the plug-ins that come with MM, just the scripts that come with MM, using MM Wasapi output to an RME Fireface 800 (which is also 400 compatible) running through Firewire 400 cable into PC.

Same Issue here! I'm spending all of this time finding album artwork and downloading it through MM then a few minutes later there is no artwork when I click the track and it doesn't even show up in the "unknown album artwork" field. I'm having to go through my entire collection regularly to check for artwork that has "mysteriously" disappeared!

@WesleyP Are you working in the Library node? A debug log might give more insight to the developers: http://mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Hi all,
I had the same problem. Turned out I did not have full permission on the temp folder. Once changed it was resolved.
Hope this helps for you too, cause it drove me nuts also

Which temp folder? Where is it?

Re: album art not showing up
Mine points to C:\Users\Rain\AppData\Local\Temp\ where I find six files with MM in the name, all cache files with album covers, but only about 1/1000 of my collection.
