iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching

iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
The device shows up correctly in MM and seems to have no problem uploading the files to the device (it can even play the files off of the device). However, the iPod interface says there is no music on the device, although it knows that storage space is being used. Perhaps Apple has changed the file system schema in the new models?
I do not have some of the folders it seems like you would expect:
In NANO/iPod_Control/iTunes I only have one folder "iTunes Library.itlp"
otherwise, there are 5 files:
iTunesControl
iTunesDB
iTunesPrefs
iTunesPrefs (quicktime file)
Play Counts

Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
I restored the iPod in iTunes (ensuring I have the newest version of the fw). Adding a song worked fine. After I then tried to synch with MM, the iPod still says no music is on the device and a relaunch of iTunes gives a "device unreadable. Please restore" error.

Yes indeed. Let me know how I can help -- glad to send over file system/iTunes Db info
Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
I'm assuming this is a generic iTunes 10 issue, right? Not particular to the Nano? I saw a few people had tested the iPhone with iT10. Has anyone tested iPods?

Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
No, the problem is probably simply that the MM devs haven't yet added proper support for the new brand of iPods (the new shuffle may not work properly either at this point).
All the signs so far point to iTunes 10 being compatible with MM.

Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
Fair enough -- not sure why it would be a product-specific issue? Do all of the devices have their own file system schema? I was under the impression that this was standardized across the models?...

Newly released iPods have caused problems in the past.kbrewster wrote:Fair enough -- not sure why it would be a product-specific issue?
No, but they sometimes have subtle differences.Do all of the devices have their own file system schema?
Not all models, iPhones and Ipod touches are very different from regular iPod models, and even between the regular iPod models there are some subtle differences.I was under the impression that this was standardized across the models?...
I marked it in the bug tracker: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=6473

Thanks nohitter. I can post screenshots/whatever you need to Mantis. I am a developer myself, so I can hopefully help answer more technical questions, if it would help

Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
FWIW, I am also interested in this. I have a gold license, and I don't plan to buy the 6 gen Nano unless the playlist syncing works. I guess I'll check back here or through google until an answer comes back.
Is there any reason to expect that playlist syncing will never work?
thanks

Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
Jiri, the main iPod developer, has stated that he will probably have a beta version of the plugin available to support the new nano in ~2 weeks time.

I'm having the same problem would love to know when this will be ready as I hate itunes with a passion
Re: iPod Nano 6th Gen Not Synching
I have the new iPod Touch 4th Gen. and MediaMonkey doesn't recognize it at all. I'm wondering why the ticket is marked as just a "minor" issue if multiple devices cannot be synched. I have to use iTunes again to sync which has rendered my MediaMonkey useless until this is fixed. That is a major issue to me and I'm sure anyone else whose purchased MediaMonkey for their iPod only to find it isn't supported.
