Seems this thread had some impact.

Files, Edit on the same level as close, minimize, how do I do that, or are you saying it's implemented in version 4? Tabs is something that had been discussed at length before this topic. It's actually strange/amazing that it hasn't been something requested a lot lately. Browse online content had been requested before too and I'm amazed it got implemented as it always got a lot of negative response.

Then I misread you as I thought you were originally complaining about this being on the same bar. Seeing the screenshot I can see MM4 will have it on the same bar which is a good thing as long as all toolbars can be added to it as otherwise I don't gain any screen real estate (and with tabs we're loosing some actually).

You're right. And I hope it too.
Anyways having the menu in the titlebar is an improvement.

Now the next step would be an option to group Files,Edit, controls, ... under a single button.
like Chrome, Opera, IE9 beta, Firefox4 beta
and a lot of Microsoft programs.

It would be nice if they change the ugly MM icon to a button.

The Top-Left sticky note says "OR even better, use the MediaMonkey icon for global commands (like MS Office), and allow the user to configure other global icons to appear there."

So it appears they agree with you! :D

I'm looking forward to the MM4 redesign!!!

Yeah
I just hope we'll be able to get rid of that yellow icon.
I always hated it.

I think it's here to stay unfortunately.

Would you rather this kind of icon?

Hahaha

But seriously.
Since they're revamping completely the MM GUI, they could change that horrid icon IMO.

For example in the systray it clashes with the nice Win7 icons:

If they don't change the design maybe they could change the color to something less distracting.
Here is an example of a "tokenized" MM icon. (dark version on the left side/ light version on the right side)

Personally, I like the current MM icon. Especially if it were a functional button like in MS Office. And a variation in color might be a nice way to indicate the new version (MM4).

I would prefer something that actually looks like a button.

As you can see in that screenshot, the MM icon is not something you would intuitively click on to bring a menu.
