Duplicate files on Playlist

trixmoto has made a script to remove the dups from the playlist.

its in the all scripts message

Yes, I saw trixmoto's script and do like it a lot, but I am also hoping that the short-term and long-term plans that rusty posted in this thread earlier will be implented. As I understand it, with rusty's plan, you don't have to have a script remove duplicates - the duplicate songs won't be added in the first place.

Rusty, or any other developers, can you comment on the progress of this if possible? Thanks.

And thanks to trixmoto for his script and rovingcowboy for pointing it out as well.

The next release will have a duplicate handling implemented.

The next release as in the next alpha release, or 2.6?

I'm making some improvements to my script at the moment so expect a new one soon. Not that it'll be needed for long by the sounds of it!

Duplicate removal has been implemented in 2.5 beta 1

I'll have to have a play with the beta before I do anything more to my script then. See if there's actually any functionality I can add!
