Rio Karma Still Not Synching
Just thought I'd chime in and let you know the Rio Karma, although recognized does not synch with mm 908. You can delete files, but adding files does not work. What is strange, however, is that the synching worked fine with the first released alpha build. Since then, adding tunes to my Karma has not worked. One note I'd like to add: if I copy the first wmdm.dll build to the plugin directory of the latter builds the synching works. It just seems strange to me that it worked for the first alpha, but hasn't since.
Williw,
That is most valuable information.
Can you use Alpha 4 and save Debug log while using Alpha 4 wmdm.dll an then do the exact same thing with wmdm.dll that works. and send it to support for evulation and fixing.

iPaq HP 6315 -- installed and synced fine. However, MM shows 3 different icons in the tree: base device by name e.g., pda6315; the SD "storage card"; and "iPaq File Store". Are all of these necessary?
iPod Shuffle -- took it off my Mac and plugged it in. No problems syncing. However, while also simultaneously syncing a Dell Jukebox, the Shuffle cannot be removed safely: 1) "problem ejecting Shuffle" box says "It appears to be in use by another application", which is probably MM. Also note, the USB tree for the Shuffle and Dell DJ only has a root Mass Storage device. There seems to be no safe way to eject the Shuffle while the (very slow) DJ is synced.
Color iPod -- again, plugged it in cold with no other software and it synced fine.
Older iPod 20GB (gen 2) -- used to be synced and working with prior versions of MM. On initial insertion under Alpha 5, this previously "known to MM" iPod came up with the Windows message "unrecognized USB device". The Windows "auto-scan" box came up, but the device was not added to the tree in MM music explorer. However, the iPaq, Shuffle, and Dell DJ are still in the tree. Yes, MM recognizes 3 devices simultaneously and syncs at least 2 at a time. I'll post again if this iPaq does not recover itself. I don't want to press it and blow up the Dell DJ sync.
Dell Jukebox (Nov. 2003 version) -- recognized after Dell drivers installed. I am guessing this is a USB 1.0 device. It's taking several hours to delete content and load 20GB from MM. Speed is probably not MM's problem.
Suggestion: Auto-Conversion Rules are a super idea. Did you know that the default is 2 - fast but crummy conversion? I would default to the 9- Recommended. Also, it would be nice to have a preferred way to handle conversions instead of setting for every device. Lastly, be sure to warn folks that converting a 64 bit WMA to an 80 bit mp3 using fast conversion level 2 results in, well, too much lost sound.
[Note to readers: if you think I paid for all these gadgets, you'd be wrong!]

Rio Karma Synch
Tried to run the debug alpha. Was able to launch it without Karma pluggued in. As soon as I connect the Karma, program crashes out and log is destroyed. Any other suggestions?
H10 Not Supported
Hi, I am the owner and user of an Iriver H10 5GB which I converted to use the UMS European firmware
. The H10, in Alpha 4 and 5 (the only ones i've tested), shows up as a generic USB mass storage device. That's good (at first). In order for the music (in the device's menu) to show up under specific titles like "Artist" or "Album", I have to use a program called "Easy H10" (I beleive it's an open source program) which rewrites the database information so that the music shows up under it's proper titles (like "Artist" or "Album").
When I do this and then try to synchronize with Media Monkey again to add or remove music, Media Monkey freezes up. I beleive this is due to the fact that I changed the database information.
My recommendation would be to include specific support for the Iriver H10 in Media Monkey V2.5. This would serve as a great advantage to Media Monkey's creators because there are alot of people with H10s looking for an easier way to synchronize music to their device. They have the choice of resorting to Iriver Plus (which everyone hates), Windows Media Player (which is OK, but it has its drawbacks), or the use of multiple programs to synchronize the device and rewrite the database. Including specific support for the H10 would draw in MANY new customers to Media Monkey especially if it reaches the status of itunes's ease of usability without the proprietary BS.

Re: Rio Karma Synch
It does not solve the problem, but re-installing the same version fixes this behaviour.williw wrote:Tried to run the debug alpha. Was able to launch it without Karma pluggued in. As soon as I connect the Karma, program crashes out and log is destroyed.
I now suspect that configuring the sync options without having the device attached is what is starting this problem.

Re: H10 Not Supported
Update: I figured out that this only happens when I check the box that says Auto Synchronize as soon as the device is connected in the portable audio devices configuration for my H10 (which still shows up as a generic USB device).fdmendez wrote:Hi, I am the owner and user of an Iriver H10 5GB which I converted to use the UMS European firmware. To the Media Monkey programmers: Please inlclude specific support for the Iriver H10 so that me and many other users can easily synchronize our music to our devices. Please remember to make sure it rewrites the database for the H10 every time it adds or takes away music. I would definitely BUY media monkey if it had this feature so that I could also get the file monitor capabilities. Can you say, "Itunes Killer"?
iRiver h10
so i got fed up with the iRiver H10 in UMS mode and i changed back to MTP firmware. It turns out that Media Monkey works very well with the iRiver MTP 2.51 US firmware. However, the first time I synched it, Media Monkey only lodaded up about half my music but it still updated the database tso that all my artsists and albums showed up. After I formatted the H10 and reinstalled the firmware (so that it was like out of the box new) i tried again with media monkey and it loaded up all my songs. If this keeps up, I think Media Monkey is gonna take over some serious market.

Sony Walkman NW-A1000
What about synchronizing with the new Sony Walkman (NW-A1000/3000)?
Does anyone tried it so far?
