Skinned bonus, perhaps? :)
The screen shot came from 1304, and the functionality has been there for... quite a while. I believe early on in 3.x, it only displayed the first value, but then was changed to show an entry for each item in the multi-value list.

It should be the same for both Skinned and not Skinned, as this is part of the functionality and has nothing to do with the skin.

You're quoting LL, but I believe you're referring to my screen shot. So, yes my screen shot came from one track (as like mentioned prior, Find More From Same only works on one file).

Sorry, yes.

So does your one track's Artist field really have all those artists?

Definitely sounds like Artists needs a sub-menu then.

I prefer the way it is right now, especially as 1 or 2 Artists is the most common occurrence. Adding it as a submenu requires another step to access this feature.

Good that MM does otherwise for playlists :)

I agree with that as a single track can be on many playlists, I don't use many myself and already have 5-10 per track.

1306 "Find more from same playlist" on selected trac

Post by chrisjj »

Please can "Find more from same playlist" work on selected multiple tracks, rather than be disabled as per this change: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=7005 .

"Work" meaning show all playlists on which any selected track occurs.

How can that be done as MediaMonkey can only show 1 playlist?

I see, you mean the menu not in the Filelisting. As previously said I find that undesirable as it doesn't scale. With a 1000 tracks from a 1000 Artists you'd have a very large menu showing all Artists (and all Albums, etc.). It would also be very slow most likely as a lot of database queries need to be run. If you select even more files it would become even more unusable.

Er, no. The Expected behaviour does not include all Artists.

Per track, only one - I can sure wait for that, and it is way faster than the current manual alternative.

So you're saying it should list all playlists of all selected tracks, but not all artists? That would be inconsistent behavior.

Yup.

Consistent with the current inconsistency that deprives Artists of a sub-menu.

I prefer that it has no submenu. And even if it would have it would take really long to load things with many files selected, I can only imagen how long the Artist submenu would take, and knowing that I would assume that the Playlist submenu would take a multiple of that as it's many times more complex with AutoPlaylists being involved and who knows how many hundreds of playlists a user has. I don't think it's scalable beyond a few tracks and thus it should only work on a single track (and thus be hidden all together on multiple selection).
