Re: DLNA Experience
re last.fm: MediaMonkey count only plays that re dome within MM player and as Client control what and how much is played MM can't recognize that
I'm not sure if that would be possible in case that you use MM media Renderer to play tracks directly on MM.

related to the last.fm play count being incremented by other UPNP / DLNA clients, I know that some of the clients might ask for the file more than once. The PS3 is known for doing this with videos at least. There might be other way, that might involve some tricks (e.g. counting what each DLNA client is doing) and some experimentation wth the many different clients.

Re: DLNA Experience
Guess not - this has already been addressed in the thread a couple of times. The UPnP/DNLA protocol has three legs - a server side, a renderer side and a control point. The last leg is what you are asking for (distribution of music from inside MM to renderers) - WMP is able to do this nowadays (like Cidero used to also).cccccc wrote:hello,

I am not sure what to expect of the MM DNLA ability - for instance I can't locate where to define what content to serve. I only see a content screen under options (share media) - but no way to point at a certain directory - so where exactly is the server looking...? Is it looking in the MM library by default or...? I MUST be missing something... My music is stored on a NAS - and nothing is found by the MM server except for my playlistst (?) - don't know why these come up and 99,5% are not served. I have said 'yes' and ticked every box possible - still nothing, still no access from my renderers. My Twonky server (placed on a NAS) functions as always.
My UPnP clients all have small padlocks shown next to 'mediamonkey media server' on their screens (SLA5520, Noxon iRadio and TEAC WAP-4500). I guess it has something to do with my music being stored on a NAS. But then again not because I also have tested with music on my PC - doesn't help - not found. But what about Roku - are you able to choose music via the MM server?

I was just thinking about that and how that would be Cool. Although I do not like WMP creating New player and how things are (not )controlled from WMP but I would really like that as it would Simplify things a lot.cccccc wrote:Is it possible to just select a song in MM and sendto an UPNP renderer (like Roku).

Something like:
a)
1. Access MM using WEB interface
2. Create Now Playing List
3. Select all Rooms Where MM should Send That Playlist and press play.
b)
1. Use MM normally and play whatever you want
2. MM automatically send cloned streams to Selected Players if they are available.

Yes, music is located on my QNAP NAS and is served through MediaMonkey DLNA to my Roku Soundbridge Radio. Things didn't work when MM PC was on wifi, but when connected by cable the Roku can play tracks.
