1342: Not Gapless with out_wasapi.dll [#7104]

Post by robojock »

Im playing back some mp3's which i know are gapless and at the moment mm4 is NOT playing them gapless, you can hear the transition from one song to the other.

You mean you hear crossfading on track change?

No i mean if you take a dj mixed compilation for example and listen to it from track 1 right to the end you can hear the transitions from track to track, which is not supposed to happen, it should be one smooth flow.

I know what crossfade does and i usually disable crossfading cause with the music i listen to it sounds like a group of horses galloping ;)

BTW it not only does it with mp3, does it with flac as well, so i guess it will do it with all formats.

Have you tried to lower your Playback buffer and or enable crossfade using 500ms?

I have it on its default settings just crossfade is unticked, buffer is 350ms, the rest i have ticked except for exculsive mode. I have tried many different settings, some work fine with the flac but then they dont work fine with the mp3s or the other way round :( going back to out_MMDS.dll solves the problem

What is the difference anyways of the 2? What do we gain from the out_wasapi.dll?

I can confirm your problem, I have a FLAC album that is gapless in out MMDS but has an audible click when using out WASAPI.
