Guide to iPod syncing

How ( physically ) do I download my ipod to media monkey? Do I use the same usb conx? What keeps itunes from taking over. My situation is I lost all my music from itunes. I pulloed it up one day and all my music was gone. I now have an ipod with all my music, and that is it. I want to download it to mediamonkey ( cause itune ticked me off ) but am afraid to somehow erase my only copy of my music. Make me confident!

1. i may have done something incorrectly when i erased everything from my library Itunes....though the "purchased" music seems to be playable and fine on mediamonkey, i cannot drag it into the itunes or ipod. once i right click on it, it gives me the "no can do" circle/slash sign.
all of the music i have that wasn't purchased from itunes is on my ipod and playable through the device but i have 1300+ songs i bought from itunes that aren't coming up....

i read step 16 (i think that was the step # in the unofficial help for synching) and i did what it said to do but i can't drag those songs into itunes.

2. if i am trying to create some space in my ipod because i received notice i dont have enough space in my ipod for all of my music, and i want to delete some of the music files, do i have to delete them and then go through the whole cycle time or will mediamonkey just take out the songs i deleted when i hit "synch device"??? p.s. though i received the message the ipod storage is full, i seem to have quite a bit of space when looking at the bar picture thing...

3. the itunes library is empty yet the ipod is 3/4 full so i can't create playlists for ipod use.
is this something i am doing incorrectly or are playlists creates on MM?

Please read the wiki about setting up the device profile. You may also want to look at the MM help file regarding syncing. It seems you're missing some fundamental aspects about how to use MM.

New here. Followed the guide, but still can't get a Nano 6g to sync. It is recognizing the device with no problems. The auto-sync starts the sync wheel on the device, but shuts off almost immediately. If I try to sync manually nothing happens on the device, it starts with 1 of 330 on MM but cuts off.

Wish I could just Jailbreak it like my phone.

Ipod Nano 6th Generation Firmware 1.0 and up to date according to Apple

Edit: Running the latest versions of Itunes and MM. Tried to sync my Iphone too and it did the same thing. I am having no issues syncing with Itunes.

I am following all steps to try and sync my 5th generation ipod with MM, but no tracks are getting synced. It all works with iTunes but not with MM. I really want to leave iTunes behind. any ideas as to what I might be missing?

Make sure that you are using the newest version of MediaMonkey. Also make sure that the tracks that you are trying to sync are not copy protected by iTunes.

I have been deleting albums off my ipod, but after it syncs, and is disconnected the device still shows on the ipod. Am I missing something?

Hi, I'm having trouble with making Playlists on my iPod Nano (5). I'd really like to move an entire playlist from MM or from a friends iPod to be a playlist on my iPod - is this possible? Acutally I'm having trouble creating any playlists at all on my iPod through MM.. Any suggestions?

Make the playlist in MM, right click > Send to > device.

Just one question. I new with MM and Ipod Classic 160gb.

All is working fine, I syncronize without problem.

But, when I delete a file from database and catalog in my PC, after syncornize, the files continue on my Ipod.

The problem is only related to deleted files, any addtions or modifications on databse are inmediately trnslated to Ipode after sync.

Any idea????

Hi,
I have a 1st gen ipod touch that used to work with media monkey, I let my friend use it for a few weeks and they jailbroke it, Now its not showing up in Media Monkey. I tried using the guide but with the Ipod not showing in MM or Itunes i cant do much. It doesnt show up in the configuration window and i dont know what to do to get it to show. When i plug it in it just charges. Nothing else. I'm so tired of all this I cant restore I get an error with i tunes. I went through hell trying to get it to restore Got it stuck in recovery mode and now i'm afraid to try that again. Is there any way i can get my ipod to be recognized by my laptop? I'm running windows 7 have the latest itunes and firmware.
