Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
Hello,
while, with the newest version 4.1, this script finds the right images in the right sizes, I still cannot figure out how to save the images into my tags. What happens, when I click on "Save checked images", is that a jpg file is saved to the folder the album is in. But this jpg file is in no way linked to the music files so it does not display the album art in MediaMonkey. Also, I actually want to save the album art to the tags, and not to a file (which also is the option I entered). The software mp3tag also confirms that there is no cover art stored into the tags, so it is not a MediaMonkey display error. I tried to follow BarryManilow's suggestion but cannot find a count. I would be surprised if it took long enough for a countdown to show when I only try to tag one album, though.
Some helpful information might be that after I tried to save a cover to an album this album will be treated by Batch Art Finder as if it had a valid cover art. So it does not pop up again unless you force it.
Another bug which might or might not correspond to my problem is that all the links (blue underlined texts that is) in the prompt window where you select the cover, are just as useless to click as the "Save checked images" button. There does just not happen a thing when I click them.
I would very much appreciate any suggestion to my problem as this script looks like it would ease tagging a lot but sadly it has never ever worked for me.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
Found this script to help me rebuild my library album art. I'm running Windows 7 x64 & MediaMonkey Gold 3.2.4.1304.
I don't get any error messages, but I start the script, I can see that it's working, and then after a few short minutes the script windows stops responding and I have to force close MediaMonkey?
Is this a known problem? If so, are there any remedies?
Thanks in advance for any help

@YellowSoul - which storage type have you selected in the options? Are you using the single or multi-image results mode? Saving to tag has always worked for me - do you have your MM settings set to automatically save changes to your tags? The links not working should have been fixed in version 4.1.
@Meetloaf13 - this isn't a known problem, in fact I can't replicate it at all.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
That was the source of my problem. As I have never used MediaMonkey to tag files I did not even know such an option exists.trixmoto wrote:do you have your MM settings set to automatically save changes to your tags?
Links still do not work for me in version 4.1 but I do not care.
By the way, the storage type option "Store in tags (delete image)" is kind of misleading. One could think that this option deletes the existing linked files and that "Store in tags" does what actually the first mentioned option does. At least that ist what I thought the difference would be.
Thanks for help.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
This script doesn't touch any other images already attached to the track, it only adds new ones. Because this script has to download the image before it can embed it, it was requested that I deleted the file afterwards, so I added this as an extra option. If you can suggest a better wording, let me know.

I am not quite sure which algorithm you use for the search. But it seems not very good as per default settings:
Example:
Batch Art Finder results (9! - all wrong. This happens by very many searches.):

When the album and artist name in Google returns many 'correct' results at the very beginning of the list.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
I don't use an "algorithm" I just build a search url. You can check out the search url by enabling the debug mode and checking the logfile, then compare this with your own search url.

Hi there, I've just installed 4.1 but 'try next image' still doesn't work for me. In fact none of the links do - skip album, edit query, etc. I've tried installing over the previous version and doing a clean install but no luck.

What is the cause of the different results in qazwsxedcrfvg's screenshot?

Thanks trixmoto but I'm not sure what you mean by "Single or multi-image mode". I can't find any setting called that.
Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
Sorry, I believe the option is called "Results" and if it's set to 1 then it's in the old single mode and if it's set larger then it goes into the new multi-results mode. It's totally different code, so it helps to know which people are using when they have problems.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.1 - Updated 31/01/2011
Thanks trixmoto, It was set to 1. I changed it to 2 but the links still don't work. And I mean none of the links in the Batch Art Finder window.

They all use javascript - do you have scripting enabled in your IE options?
