It is definitely there nohitter, try these steps, my settings are crossfading on "4 sec" take a few songs that end with a beat and start with a beat for example a dj mixed compilation. Ok the bar that you use to skip into the song, click on the last bit so that mm plays the last bit of the song and jumps to the next song while crossfading it. Then you will hear that horrible crackling sound

Nope, tried it several times, I don't hear any crackling at all.robojock wrote:It is definitely there nohitter, try these steps, my settings are crossfading on "4 sec" take a few songs that end with a beat and start with a beat for example a dj mixed compilation. Re: Crackling sound in transition of songs with MM4
I can confirm the crackling bug is occurring for me in MM4.
Happens during the transition of *some* songs not all songs. That being said its the same songs each time and during the crossfade. Selecting the song manually or clicking next you don't get the crackle.
Thanks
Galen

Re: Crackling sound in transition of songs with MM4
This issue seems to be related to electric guitar or drum (possibly in conjunction) play as the severity of the "crackling sound" increases if the guitar/drum play is loud or quick and lessens if it's quiet or scarce also it's nonexistent with songs that start with purely piano, base, or acoustic from what I've seen. The crackling sound only occurs within the first 4 seconds of the song afterwards the issue disappears.
In order to reproduce this easily you'll need to transition to a song that plays guitar (and/or drums) heavily within the first 4 seconds.

Confirmed in 1358. Only sometimes do I get this, particularly when there's lots of audio at the beginning of a track during a crossfade.
Sounds like static when you put a record cartrige down.

Me too. So what should we do? Do you want us to upload two songs that do this? Maybe it would help. Obviously some people have this problem.
Re: Crackling sound in transition of songs with MM4
Im not sure if this got fixed with the previous builds, but it seems that it is back,

Nope. It haven't been fixed in any of the builds I've downloaded (and I've got almost all of them). I REALLY, REALLY hope they fix it before MM4 hits the release.

Can confirm that i have the same issue here as well. Its there mostly in heavy metal songs which start off fast. Thats the best i've been able to pin point it to.
