1343: Android & Del Tracks that aren't on Auto-Sync [#2615]
I'm currently testing the 4.0 alpha and unfortunately it appears that even though the bug #2615 indicates that it won't be messing with anything outside the defined media directory, it still tried to delete everything all over my device regardless of what I had set as the media directory.

Bug 2615 and Build 4.0.0.1343
Hi,
I see that bug 2615 is identified as having been corrected in the current build. Part of that remedy was to isolate MediaMonkey's reach (in removing items during Auto-Sync, for example) to the paths that are defined as being where media live on the device.
I'm using an original US Motorola Droid with Cyanogen 6.1 firmware, which is based on Android 2.2.1.
I've set up an auto-sync list with paths that are all either under \Music or \Video as appropriate. What's happening is that when I go to sync to the device, I'm warned that a bunch of things that are all over the device (ringtones, system event sounds, sound recorder clips, etc) and definitely not within \Music or \Video are being tagged as candidates for deletion. That I've set it up for confirmation has been how I've rescued these things from such a mass purge.
This one is a big deal for me because I can't easily unselect all of these things every time I go to do an auto-sync. If it would just respect my media paths and leave everything else alone, I'd be happy. As it is, I had discontinued using MediaMonkey pending this issue being corrected because it's too much trouble to unselect all of those things when I've made a big change in what I"m syncing and the list is otherwise long.
If you need me to do anything such as generate a log or test any scenarios, please let me know.
Thanks!
Chris

Re: 1343: Android & Del Tracks that aren't on Auto-Sync [#26
Hasn't requested to delete stuff that's not under my sync Destinations so that appears to be fixed.
This is using a HTC Desire which is listed as a HTC Hero? (on MM3 listed correctly as a Desire)
Also I had existing Music under the /Music Destination folder and it didn't offer to delete it even though Auto Sync had "Delete files that aren't on the Auto-sync list from the device" checked? So maybe a new bug?
edit: just did another sync and this time it offered to delete the files under /Music
Is the "reserve xxx MB of free space" hooked up as I entered 512 but it completely filled my device?
