MM overriding file icon types

Post by DJ Dust »

Hi all

Hope someone can help. I just got rid of Winamp as I got fed up of it overriding all my music icon types and replacing them with the default Winamp icon. I like all my files like MP3, MP4, M4A, FLAC, WAV, etc. to have a different type of icon so I can tell them apart when looking through my folders...

I've just installed Media Monkey and found to my complete dismay that it does exactly the same thing - all the above icons now all look the same and have the MM logo. It's getting uninstalled if it won't stop doing it.

Can anyone help?

cheers

Disable all file associations in the Options.

Have done that and unticked the "Re-associate File Types on startup" box.

Hasn't made any difference. :(

Hi there

Funnily enough, that's exactly what I have been using to change the icons. It makes no difference though. As soon as I set MM to be the default player to anything changed by it, they immediately get overwritten and become MM icons again. :(

Then have another player as default such as these little freebies:

http://mpesch3.de1.cc/1by1.html
1by1 is a small, fast and handy audio player which is not only small: it provides a smart and versatile environment to handle your file collection and listen to your tracks - with no need for playlists or databases.

OR

Billy is a lightweighted no nonsense audio player that allows you to quickly play an entire directory of MP3 files.
