A question about MM4 / Gold features

I have a lot of music across different genres, and have used the Grouping tag to define where the music came from, and what type it is. For eg, 'Vinyl Album' if I have the album on vinyl, 'Online Album' if I bought it digitally, etc. If the song isn't from an album, the tag is just 'Vinyl', 'Online', 'Free', etc.

All of my albums are stored in the format [Genre] \ [Album artist] - [Album title] rather than [Genre] \ [Album artist] \ [Album title]

With MM4 (or MM3/4 Gold), is it possible to set up a node that will only take tracks with Album in the Grouping tag (ie it can be 'CD Album', 'Vinyl Album', 'Free Album' etc) and then display them in exactly this way: "(Albums) \ [Genre] \ [Album artist] - [Album title]" ?

I ask this because I'm quite particular about how I display my music, and I'd need to pay for MM to find out if I can actually do this or not! I'm currently using the MM4 beta and in order to view the music how I want to, I've had to just use the file tree (in MM) instead of the library, and I'm sure if I were to predominantly use the library instead, performance would be better.

One more question - is there (or, will there be) any way to show the Publisher field in the column browser? It seems absurd that it's left out, and it's quite important for my music...

The Magic Nodes addon can create custom nodes in the Explorer Tree: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... agic+nodes

Also the Library > Location node can be used for in Library browsing, but using the existing folder/file format structure. This is faster than using the My Computer node.

I do have a wee problem though, and was hoping you could point me in the right direction (no success by myself). When I try to install scripts, I get the error as shown here: http://i.imgur.com/rajGl.jpg , and they simply won't install. Any ideas?! I'm using 4.0.0.1376.

I'm still having trouble installing any scripts. The page that you linked to in your last post won't work - I've tried all the steps and got to the last one, but the reg file won't add to the registry. I get the error "Cannot import [file]: Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes.".

Also I noticed that the error message I'm getting is different to the one that that page is for - the error message I'm getting is "A script engine for the specified language can not be created".

Any ideas? Are there any specific services or anything in Windows (7) that I need to be running?

You must have Windows script host installed to use MM scripts. Usually it is included by default with Windows OSes.

Hey nohitter. I do have the Windows script host installed, which makes this confusing.

to no avail. I also tried downloading and running the Test_VBscript.exe that Peke suggested*, but the window it opens closes instantaneously...

I was thinking is there anything i need to be running in either 'task manager -> services' or 'msconfig - services'?

DL this VBS to Desktop and than double click on it to execute http://www.happymonkeying.com/forum/Test_VBscrpt.vbs also try what options you have with right click open with?

Hi Peke, sorry about the slow reply and thanks for the help!

The image shows everything
1 - the dialog box that comes up after the vbs has been run (and after clearing the security box)
2 - open with options (I know it isn't obvious, lol)
3 - the dialog box that appears when I runMM - I had to disable the splash screen via the command line otherwise it would sit over this box and MM would be impossible to open. MM doesn't properly run until I click ok.

I've been hassling the Microsoft guys (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/For ... 1cfe4c360d) and they reckon it's a MM issue, not W7, given that I can run scripts...
