1398: Media Tree Settings not remembered [#8098]

Post by Onweerwolf »

I've hidden a number of nodes through options/media tree but after restarting MM or adding a new device some of the nodes are back as visible.

Do you have some examples, are you safely closing MM with no lingering in the task manager?? The only settings I noticed do not stay where I put them is the location of the devices and find more from same items, I want them at the very bottom but they keep inching their way up higher.

EDIT: Here is an example, I adjusted my settings, closed MM and rebooted.

This is what I set them to be:

This is what the looked like when I rebooted, see how the zen, itunes device and find more from same have moved around:

Are the devices moving around according to how they are read in when MM starts up?? I have them both set to scan on startup.

Also with a corrupt database all kinds of things can go wrong.

These settings are saved in the database, if your database is corrupted they might fail to save.

I have everything invisible aside from Playlists & Entire Library. After a restart Now Playing, find more from Same, Media Servers, My Computer, Net Radio and Web return.

It's unrelated. The same thing happens with a new database.

I've restarted several times and the devices continually move from where I want them to be, it seems that they are loaded in alphabetical order, which means either it needs to be fixed so that they stay where the user put them or they should not be included in the items to customized.

The same thing here on a win7-x64 normal installation, not portable.

MM closes ok and the settings of the media tree are not retained.

I just wanted to add that I installed 1399 and now my nodes are moved around worse then they were before. It would really be nice if this could be investigated, otherwise why bother giving us the option to organize our tree??

As usual debug logs would be helpful and allow the developers to investigate the issue.

here is a debug log of me starting mm, changing settings back to where I want them, closing mm and then reopening with the devices moved from where I put them: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13254132/moved%20devices.LOG

I haven't been able to replicate this either (with 1401).

Nyn,

Can you disable your scripts and see if the issue still occurs? From the debug log, it seems like some scripts may be related to this. If it's script-related, please tell me exactly what script is triggering the problem, and how you're using the script.

Surfer, Onweerwolf,

Please confirm whether the problem occurs on a clean install (no scripts). Maybe it's related to some settings from an upgrade?? Onweerwolf, I tested this out on another DB that you'd submitted, and didn't experience this problem.

Thanks.
