I want a full MM on Android

Post by BomBoora »

All my music is on a NAS. It would be perfect to have a full operating MM on an Android tablet, so I can access and control my music anywhere in the house.
In this way I would have the perfect music center, and don't need a pc somewhere to control everything.
Can we expect something like that in the near future? :D

I' m a MM Gold user for years, and nothing else comes even close (Itunes sucks). Moving from PC to Android tablet seems logical to me.

I think making mediamonkey sync better to apps that already exist on iphone/android and sync better to cloud based services would be better... But MM definitely needs to amp up functionality with multiple devices.
MM to Grooveshark Playlist Sync w/ MonkeyShark.

Hello

Today, you have some solutions.
-Tag and auto-arrange your music with MM in a windows pc, no choice.
-Store the music files in your nas and set your nas as dlna/upnp server (Synology can do that, I don't know for the other nas)
-Read play and search in your dlna library with a dlna client. In android bubbleupnp is a good dlna client.

Note that the dlna client can play music and video in the Android device or into another dlna device (such as tv, hifi, or another mediamonkey computer). In this case the Android device is used as remote controller between the nas containing the library and the rendering device.

My Opinion is that MM for Android is overkill and not usefull, because the dlna solution is perfect to play or remote your music library and for tagging and arranging, an Adroid device is not practice.

Very interesting! I didn't know, that we can 'control' some basic functions from MM with a Android UPnP-Device.
Your mentioned BubbleUPnP seems to have very good reviews too. I have to check this for sure!

Thanks for sharing this informations as an alternative to 'Full MM on Android'.
