5 sec. delay before track starts with "Art&Details" on

My system is pretty fast: win7-x64, Intel i5, SSD Intel 320, 4GB RAM
- newest beta MM 1420

When "View/Art&Details" is selected and i clic a track to play it begins to play about 5 sec. after the clic. Without "art&details" it starts at once.

I'm not sure but i think this time delay began with one of the newest versions about 1414, 1415 or so.

I'm testing with 1423 and cannot replicate, whether the files are stored locally or on a server. Tested with mp3, flac.

Are you still able to reproduce? Any more details? e.g. is it specific to any filetypes? does size of artwork have an effect? does filesize impact this? Any view? etc...

The issue seems - mainly - gone with the version 1423, at least with covers of the "normal" size of anything up to about 500 kb.

With bigger size of covers, from 1 MB on, it is still there - gradually: the bigger the size of covers the longer the delay before the song starts.
With some covers of about 3-5 MB i still have this lag of some few seconds.

I does not seem to depend in any way on the size of the songs, their format (but i use almost only mp3) or any other thing.

I can't replicate the problem for files on a hard drive--only for tracks on the network. Most likely it's a bandwidth contention issue.

I can confirm this bug on 1426, but only with big art files. 10mb gives 5-10 seconds of waiting, while 400kb starts the next song immediately.

This is on my local hard drive, not on the network. I also experience a bit of lagging in the interface when browsing the albums with the big art files.

A pity, really, since I love the Art & Details view.

Certainly with 1426 I am experiencing a delay of many seconds with the art window open.

I have a NAS and a wireless connection so bandwidth severely limited, With a wired connection the screens are still operable but sluggish with large artwork files.

EDIT 1: files with multiple images are also slow. The delay can also be seen on the Properties page on the Artwork tab - I suspect they share the same problem.
