When I do an "add/rescan files to the library" on the directory that has all my music, it finds 2622 files and says: "Did not import 2647 files (did not match import criteria)"
What import criteria is it talking about? What files did it not add? Why?
I read everything I could find in this forum about this, which basically boiled down to "turn things on in manage collections", as far as I could understand. I turned each and every collection on; it made no difference.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: "did not match import criteria" -- what import criteria?
It's files that don't match the filetypes you've chosen to import, most likely. So if you only selected MP3s, then some of those may be MP4s for instance. Or, it could be artwork in the folders (put there by you, or another program such as WMP).
Re: "did not match import criteria" -- what import criteria?
Nope, that's not it; almost everything in that directory is either a .mp3 or .ogg, both of which I'm importing, and there certainly aren't 2500 pieces of album art across 150 albums.
According to searches I've done, I only *have* 2696 files in there, *total*. Something very weird is happening.
Since the number of files not imported is slightly higher than the number of files in my library my *guess* is that it's ignoring anything it already knows about, and calling that "did not match import criteria". This would fit, since everything in there is already in my library; I'm just re-scanning. If so, that's very confusing phrasing.

I'm just testing MediaMonkey_4.0.0.1448 and found the problem diskussed above again (or still) with some of my world music albums ... mp3 so far.
There are no problems to import them in MM V 3.x

Michaelbflac,
Are you sure that they're not being imported? Is it possible that they're in the Classical node instead of the Music node?
If you're sure that they haven't been imported, please PM me with a sample file.
Thanks.

Hi rusty,
sorry for the late answer, but i had to setup my 'testing equipment' before answering to your posting.
Good news:
I'm now able to import EVERY related file into the MM4-DB (round about 3800 Tracks)!
Bad news (or even very good for you ...): I'm not able to reproduce the import error from my former posting.
My only explanation: It must be a singular migration problem from MM 3.2.5.1306 to 4RC2?!
In the meantime i have tested several migration scenarios - sometimes erasing the profile\appdata\MediaMonkey directory to get rid of all relicts of MM3, sometimes only doing a simple upgrade - but the error didn't occur again ... ???!!!
Great software, I'm very excited on the RTM version of MM4 - when it will be released at last
