REQ: Need Help finding 'blank intro/outro' for songs
I am discovering that about 2000 of my songs are 'duplicates' where I just thought there were different 'versions' of the same artist - title. It seems the only difference is the 'black space' in the beginning or ending of the song.
Some of this 'blank space' is 'recorded dead air' time either before or after the song or both.
Note: This 'blank space' still 'plays' as part of the mp3.
Some of this 'blank space' is before and/or the 'cue'.
Note: This 'blank space' does NOT play as part of the mp3.
I would like to be able to find BOTH types of 'blank spaces'.
1. How do I find the 'playable' blank space? (ie: where the song actually 'begins' and maybe even set an intro/outro 'cue marks' on the mp3?
2. How do I 'delete' the blank space as part of the mp3 file? Can I at least create a column that shows the 'actual time' of the mp3 BETWEEN the intro/outro cue marks?
Again thanks for your time in advance

REQ: How to search for 'blank values'(and difficult searches
I often encounter files that have either 'blank spaces' at the end of the artist and/or title field, or have 'double spaces' within the field name. I know I can use the REGEXP script to fix them, but FINDING them helps speed up the process of fixing them.
There are other characters that the 'search' field does not seem to like that are common characters in the artist and/or title fields
* (asterisks)
double And values (ie: Peter And Paul And Mary)
FYI - I am getting better at editing the Magic Node 'searches' so an example may help there instead of using the 'search' field

Yes. Sorry. That script has so many features, I guess I missed those two. I will try and find them.nohitter151 wrote:Pretty sure you already know about this one...

Re: REQ: Need Help with difficult 'search' results
Played around with the Tagging Inconsistency options and did not find 2 of the 3 'searches'. I may have missed them.thefaceman wrote:Yes. Sorry. That script has so many features, I guess I missed those two. I will try and find them.nohitter151 wrote:Pretty sure you already know about this one...

If they are available via the 'tagging inconsistency' or 'magic nodes' scripts, please let me know what they are called.
OR how to create such a query in Magic Nodes.
1. Finding multiple 'And' in the Artist field. The current 'tagging' "AND" option does not seem to find them all. I have some specific examples that I KNOW exist in my database and I am using them to see if scripts work to find them ALL.
2. Finding multiple 'spaces' WITHIN an ARTIST or TITLE fields.
3. Finding a string that 'ENDS' with a specific character
Again my apologies for not finding a solution on my own. Or should I

1. AND inconsistencies under "Persons"
2. missed that one, don't know of any script to find that. Ask in magicnodes or regexp thread, it can probably be done.
3. Leading and Trailing spaces in text field under "Tracks"

Re: REQ: Need Help with difficult 'search' results
I am not sure what you mean, but you certainly could use Magic Nodes and RegExp Find & Replace add-ons for this. For example, Magic Nodes mask:thefaceman wrote:1. Finding multiple 'And' in the Artist field.
Code: Select all
Multiple 'And' in the Artist field|Filter:UpperW(<Artist>) GLOB '* AND * AND *'Find what: ([^;]* and ){2,}
Into: Artist
Regular expression 1: checked
Magic Nodes mask:thefaceman wrote:2. Finding multiple 'spaces' WITHIN an ARTIST or TITLE fields.
Code: Select all
Multiple 'spaces' WITHIN an ARTIST or TITLE fields|Filter:<Artist> Like '% %' OR <Title> Like '% %'Again, I don't understand what you mean by "a string". If you mean "Find Title ..." then:thefaceman wrote:3. Finding a string that 'ENDS' with a specific character
Magic Nodes mask:
Code: Select all
Finding Title that 'ENDS' with a specific character|Filter:<Title> Like '%' || 'enter_a_specific_character_here'Don't worry because preset name is "Remove ...", just choose Keep Matched or Select Matched option from the RegExp Find & Replace dialog box and you would get displayed wanted tracks without their modification.
If you have questions regarding to Magic Nodes or RegExp Find & Replace add-ons it is recommended to post them in the related threads.
● Magic Nodes 4.3.3 / 5.2 ● RegExp Find & Replace 4.4.9 / 5.2 ● Invert Selection/Select None 1.5.1 ● Export/Create Playlists for Child Nodes 4.1.1 / 5.4.1 ● Expand Child Nodes/Expand All 1.1.2 ● Event Logger 2.7 ● Filtered Statistics Report 1.6 ● Track Redirection & Synchronization 3.4.2 ● Restore/Synchronize Database 3.1.8 / 4.0.1 ● Find Currently Playing Track 1.3.2 ● Queue List 1.2.1 ● Add to Library on Play 1.0.1 ● Tree Report for Child Nodes 1.1.1 ● Update Location of Files in Database 1.4.5 / 2.3 ● Inherit Child Playlists 1.0.3 ● Add Currently Playing/Selected Track(s) to Playlist 1.2
Re: REQ: How to search for 'blank values'(and difficult sear
RegExp Find & Replace could be used not only to fix tags in tracks, but also to FIND them. As it is mentioned in the previous post, you should use Keep Matched or Select Matched options instead of Replace All.thefaceman wrote:I know I can use the REGEXP script to fix them, but FINDING them helps speed up the process of fixing them.

Re: REQ: Need Help with difficult 'search' results
Amazing... Once again I GREATLY appreciate your help and patience. These work PERFECT and they continue to help me develop my own 'searches' for other things.

Re: REQ: Need Help find 'blank intro outro' starts/ends of s
Sorry I got confused on this threadnohitter151 wrote:Pretty sure you already know about this one...

I knew about the script, but I do not see how that helps on the song length intro/outro cue issue that I describe below
If it is there what 'option' is it called?
----------------
I am discovering that about 2000 of my songs are 'duplicates' where I just thought there were different 'versions' of the same artist - title. It seems the only difference is the 'black space' in the beginning or ending of the song.

Re: REQ: Need Help find 'blank intro outro' starts/ends of s
There is no MM addon that can analyze tracks in that way. I was only answering the question of spaces before/after text in fields.thefaceman wrote: I knew about the script, but I do not see how that helps on the song length intro/outro cue issue

Thanks for the clarification. Maybe I can put it in the Magic Nodes/RegExp threads.nohitter151 wrote:There is no MM addon that can analyze tracks in that way. I had hoped the 'Duplicate Report' would have allowed just the 'Artist field' to be examined, but The 'Match Mode" only does 'title' or 'artist - title'
