audio library stopped working

Post by shmish »

Hi,

Starting from today, everytime I go to close MediaMonkey I get a message from windows saying that "MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working."

It doesn't seem to affect MM, but I never used to get this message. It first happened on MM 3.04. I uninstalled that I installed MM 3.06.1190, but it has the same warning. Earlier today I uninstalled a Vista codec pack. I'm running Vista Home Premium SP1. I tried to log an error but didn't see anything in debugview...

thanks

Probably has something to do with a corrupted quicktime codec. Try to install quicktime or quicktime alternative.

Seems likely. The Vista codec pack that I removed had some type/version of quicktime installed.

Hmmm, didn't work. I uninstalled Quicktime and reinstalled. I also reinstalled the codec pack so maybe that wasn't the source of the problem.

Are you using any scripts or external plugins? I get an error message when I close MM once in a blue moon too, but not consistently. I usually just chalk it up to one of the many plugins or scripts I'm using, and it never usually seems to affect anything.

edit: Could it be you have a portable device plugged in when you close MM?

No, I haven't added any plug-ins and the problems just started today. I haven't plugged in a portable player for a few days. I've uninstalled a few pieces of software today that I would think they are completely unrelated to MM. And I also uninstalled an re-installed MM. So it's pretty weird.

When I first got the warnings, windows also gave me DEP (data execution prevention) warnings. I turned off DEP for MM, which stopped the DEP warnings but I still get the Audio Library has stopped working messages.

I renamed d_iphone.dll to off.d.iphone.dll and that got rid of the warning.

cheers

Yeah, I've got the same problem too! And rename that file fixed it! Thanks a bunch! :)

I too had this problem after installing it into Vista. This was solved by downloading the MM beta version 3.1.2.1267

Plugged in my gold Lic key and viola...works terrific. :D
