Hi Trixmoto,

I want to use this feature to see if the Album is uncompressed or not (*.flac).

Maybe something like this with a star as indication:

...
...
Album 14
Album 15 *
Album 16 *
Album 17
...

I'm glad you are finding it useful. But I only did the colors and layout on my personal report. Trixmoto gets credit for the script.
Enjoy!

Advanced Reports... show and tell?

Postby ZephyrMoonchild » Fri Nov 25, 2011 4:45 pm

Took some time, but I've just finished the thread. I recall seeing some AMAZING examples of this being implemented (albums by artists, example of differing formatting preferences being successfully implemented) alas nada.

If anyone has any URLs, I'd be very keen (as well as having a library peek!)

Thanks 'Trix, your scripts are priceless 8)

I just reinstalled this script on MM4, and I had to modify my scripts.ini file to get it to show up. While doing that, I realized that it installed it to the Scripts.ini file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Scripts folder instead of the Scripts.ini in the C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts folder.

Is this expected? Or is this something that needs to be changed for MM4?
Thanks!

MM4 gives you the option to install globally or for the current user, so the Scripts.ini file will depend on this decision.

Hmmm... I guess I chose the global option. I might have to uninstall and reinstall it to address this.
Thanks!

I just reinstalled MM4, hoping to reinstall for just the current user. But I was never given this option. Is there a trick I am missing?

EDIT:
Ah! Nevermind. I figured it out. The option to install for the current user is on the install menu for the Advanced Report Script, not for MM4. And when I reinstalled Advanced Report with the box checked for current user only, the Advanced Report was installed to the proper Scripts.ini. That is the Scripts.ini located in the "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts" folder.

Thanks.

I need help getting this installed on MM 4.03.

It installed properly, but doesn't show up anywhere. From what I've read here, I need to add something to my scripts.ini file.

What exactly do I need to put in there.

It's at the top of the AdvancedReport.vbs file in comments, you should be able to copy and paste it and then remove the apostrophes.

Hi there,
This report generator looks great, I've been looking for a proper intelligent list of my albums for a while.
However, can anyone please tell me how to use it? I've installed it to my MM and I see that it is in my Extensions. However, where do I go to begin using it? I try to go to File - Create Reports, but I don't see it there. I can't see any other area to look up where to find the Advanced Report function.
Thanks in advance for your help. My email is balconybar@gmail.com.

I wouldn't recommend including your email address in any forum. You are pretty much asking for spam. :-? Just subscribe to this forum thread and you will be notified of any new replies.

Assuming you are using MM 4, you should check the box to install for the current user only when you are installing this Advanced Report script. From there, you may have to manually update your "Scripts.ini" file. If using MM 4, your "Scripts.ini" file will be located in the "C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts" folder. Just open the "AdvancedReport.vbs" file with Windows Notepad, then copy the ini entry from the comment at the top and paste it into your "Scripts.ini" file. Be sure to remove the apostrophes.

A couple of users have outlined their steps here. But keep in mind that they were using MM 3. So the locations are different from the locations in MM 4 (described above).

or

Also, I edited the css style to something that better suits my tastes. You can copy my style sheet here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7855&start=450#p256103

Finally, using Advanced Report with Dropbox is pretty awesome! It makes it much more useful and I highly recommend it. See my post here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7855&start=450#p256105

Good luck! And let us know if you get stuck.

Hi again,
Thanks for the speedy reply.I opened the file in Notepad OK and I can see in there that it says to copy something to the script.ini file. However I don't know where that is, and I also can't identify what it is that I'm supposed to copy - minus the quotation marks.

The Advanced Report 6.0 file I've opened is a long file with a lot of code lines. There is an 'instal' line which says Copy to Scripts directory and add the following to Scripts.ini.
Am I to understand that I need to copy all of the text in this file and copy it somewhere else? If so there are a lot of lines with quotations marks. What specifically do I have to copy to where?

Forgive my ignorance, but mostly the instal add-on's in MediaMonkey get installed fairly easily. I'm sure I can figure this one out with a little help, I really want to get an album listing program.

Thanks in advance for any step-by-step instructions that would help.
Regards,
Gordon
