MM 4.0.1.1461 Gold - MP3 Playback distorted

Post by HDL »

With the latest upgrade MP3's are now playing back with distortion (Clicking and buzzing). The same files play fine in the Microsoft media player as well as SAM Broadcaster from Spacial Audio.

Try changing Output Plugin under Tools > Options > Output Plug-ins and also make sure the correct Sound Device is enabled.

I have tried all 3 provided output plugins and the correct sound device is chosen. The distorted playback continues.

I think I have found the problem- I use Volume Leveling on playback... when I disable it, the distortion stops.

The values set under Tools > Options > Volume Leveling might be too high. Try resetting to 89Db if not set at this.

I had the same problem with MM4.0.2.1462 and disabling volume leveling has done the trick. Thanks! :D

In 4.0.2.1462 I had the problem described and following this advice fixed it.
