MM4 creating duplicates when I rip a CD
I looked and couldn't find an answer, and I really need this to be fixed. Basically, I rip a CD and it creates two identical entries for each track. I'm totally confused as to why, all the settings (as far as I can tell) are correct. I love MM4 except for this. Please tell me it's an easy fix!!

Are you using Tools > Rip Audio CD? Do the duplicates point to the same file on the PC?

Yes and yes. I've also used the shortcut that appears just to see if that would make a difference. It still creates two entries for each track, both identical.

I should be clear in that it only creates one file on the computer like it should--the duplicate is in MM's database.

I suggest you create a debug log for this: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Re: MM4 creating duplicates when I rip a CD
I had a break in this one last night, FWIW.
I have my music library folder being constantly monitored by MM. I've named that folder in MM with the full path and the computer name, since I share the library over the home network and therefore can't refer to it by drive letter.
However, when I would rip to that location, the actual rip path used the drive letter. Therefore, MM was treating the monitor folder network path and drive letter rip path as two different locations. Hence the two entries. I ripped to the music library folder again, only this time, I entered the rip path using the computer name and no drive letter and the double entries disappeared.
