[1493] last.fm not reporting album when 'now playing'?

Was talking to a last.fm dev as I believed their API was bugged, but they mentioned that the application itself might not be reporting 'now playing' correctly. When this happens, proper album aren't isn't displayed correctly when 'now playing' but only shows up after scrobble.

I looked thrum my log files and played with last.fm whole day, never observing error you report.

I can confirm this, Now Playing will often show another art on last.fm then the scrobbled tracks.

I hadn't noticed that 1493 wasn't scrobbling for me, but I just installed 1494 and so far everything looks good.

That's how last.fm always works. For the now playing track it shows the front picture of the artist, not the album cover.
