I reformatted my card on my PC yesterday (exFAT) and tested the 'true' size with H2testw. Results seem to show that it's not a fake. I'll try syncing again and if I still have probs I'll try x-cimo's test and see what happens.

Warning: Only 60901 of 60902 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 8.92 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.0 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4

Seems like i still have issue, looking into in.. Basically I think MTP is broken.

Without anything involving MM, if I delete music directly in windows, it dosen;t get deleted, it disapear but its still taking place and MM see it as "other" instead of music..

Music player on the device still see it but all tags are now <unknown> ...

EDIT: Seems like FAT32 might be working after all.

Well this dosen't "solve" this problem. But direct WIFI sync with samba works flawlessly and it FASTER than USB ( WTF!! ). The sync are much more responsive, and media scanning is very fast...

I noticed I didin't check the option to delete content from the device if it's no longer in the sync list, so my previous test using USB need to be re-done.. On it.

Is there a link or a forum thread somewhere that can explain to me how you have samba set up? Will it also transfer podcast and playlists?

So: FAT32 seem to work.. still need to see how it hold over a few days. File copy fine now, except some of my playlist are not created on the phone and they are .pla et not m3u..

Samba way it much faster for sync, and all my playlist were created... But you need root to install samba.

There was not an option in the Windows GUI to format the MicroSD in FAT32. Only exFAT and NTFS were available.

Opened a CMD prompt and tried it with: "Format /fs:FAT32 F:" (F: being the SD drive letter).

It took FOREVER, and when it finished instead of 'success', I got: 'The Volume is too big for FAT32'. Huh? AFAIK the largest file size for FAT32 is 2TB, but there is other info out there that sets the limit in Windows to 32GB. Whatever the reason, Win7 didn't want to play. So, I found an app called 'FAT32 Format' that supposedly gets around the 32GB format ceiling and it seemed to work. (http://www.pendriveapps.com/format-fat3 ... than-32gb/ )

I tried an inital sync and it seemed to work in the normal quick fashion. I'm adding add'l playlists and adding songs to others to sync to the device, and SO FAR I haven't encountered any crashes/hangs on my S3. :D I'm going through my 3rd iteration with just over 8GB and 1500 songs added to the device. Fingers XXX'd.

UPDATE/EDIT: MM hung after adding add'l playlists and adding songs to already-synced playlists. It seemed to go through and add the files, and then it went into the 'Synronizing Samsung SGH-I747 - PHONE' phase and the progress bar hung there for a couple of hours until I yanked the cable. I had to kill MM from the task manager as it was unresponsive. I checked things on the phone and saw that the library on it was ~200 songs short and there were no playlists created. I was able to repeat this.

Another weird thing that is happening right now is that I plugged the phone back in and fired up MM. The 1300-ish songs showed up after the 'scan' completed. However, I tried to play a song from the phone library, and MM freaked out. Not only did it not play the song I selected, it greyed it out afterwards (meaning it wasn't really there according to MM?). Immediately after this it quickly started going through the rest of the MicroSD phone library and greying out each song after it (apparently) tried to play it. That's where I'm at right now.

I don't know what's up with this but something is still going on. Perhaps I'll try the debug version...

The only way I have found for MM to consistently work for me is to delete the Music directory on my SD card before each sync. If there is no "Music" folder on the SD card, everything on my sync list syncs perfectly including playlists.

However, the second I try to sync with files already on the SD card, MM will randomly delete and randomly add only a few of the songs on my sync list before either saying it has completed or locking up.

I'm seeing the same issues when syncing to the internal memory of an S3 (32Gb). The files all sync and then the process hangs prior to syncing playlists. Tags do not sync - in the music player the artist list shows 7/~600 and the album list is nearly all unknown. This is after synchronizing all tags from the MM DB -> MP3 file.

Additionally, I sometimes have to switch between MTP and PTP and back to get MM to see the phone. Unlike others, I don't see the phone and card names swapped.

Now I'm just doing a dumb transfer in PTP mode to see if that works.

If MM devs want more info, I'll be happy to provide it.

I have also these stange behaviours with my S2. Before 4.0.6.1501 it worked perfect, but I don't know which version I had previously installed.
Now after synching music seems to be there but now for every song a pla playlist was created, the tags are not synced properly, nearly all playlists are empty. I tried it a few times, each time the same result. Delted all and tried it again. Same result.
Then I took the 32 GB card out of the phone, reformated it and synced two playlists manually. Worked fine. Playlists are m3u again, all tags and artwork is synced and everything works fine. Then the last test. auto-sync of the 32 GB micro SD with an adapter. Perfect and normal.
If i can support to solve these issue please let me know what to do. thx for every help.

I've got the S3 and a 64GB SD card and I can confirm what's been said in this thread.

What mentix1 said about blowing away the Music folder and resyncing every time does indeed work...though syncing 64 GB of stuff is a huge pain. Go MediaMonkey devs, go!

Guys...

I saw a post and followed it... in Media Monkey, I see 2 devices show up, xxxPhone and xxxCard where xxx is the model of the phone.

This whole time I kept saying Phone but didn't realize the names got swapped until I saw that the xxxPhone showed the current state of the MicroSD card I put in and the xxxCard showed the current state of the phone 26+ GB free (32 GB S3).

All is well now, I put a lot of files once I switched between the Phone and Card devices.
