MM4 install steals default Video associations
When installing MM4, the application sets default associations for video to MM. This action is just simply rude! I love MM for music but to load MM to view a simple media file is a small corner window is just wasting my time and a waste of screen real estate. Yes, I know I can manually change it back; but simple programming etiquette would require you to give the user an option to change these settings during installation. I think this is especially important to do now as a new MM release will likely have frequent updates.

Re: MM4 install steals default Video associations
When you run MM for the first time there is a wizard where you can set audio & video associations. You must have bypassed the screen without disabling the associations. Re: MM4 install steals default Video associations
I have tested this myself and MediaMonkey only automatically takes file associations for files that don't have any application associated with them, which is standard behavior. Any other file associations are presented for confirmation to the user in the Wizard (if you OK the wizard the file associations are set) or can be enabled/disabled under Tools > Options > OS Integration at any time.

Re: MM4 install steals default Video associations
Hmmm... I'm with Dan on this, especially with WMV files. Time and again I x2-click on a WMV and find MM opens. Time and again I close MM, right click the WMV, change the default application back to Windows Media Player and then x2-click to play the video. I got bugged enough by this behaviour to see if there was another build of MM that might have addressed the problem, but finding none I searched the bug reports. Ta-da!

Re: MM4 install steals default Video associations
Did you disable the option to associate with WMV under Tools > Options > OS Integration? Especially if re-associate on startup is enabled MediaMonkey will re-associate with WMV.
Note: MediaMonkey asks you to confirm file associations on first run after first install, you can disable any file associations you don't want. If you skipped this step (or after upgrade) you can set file associations anytime under Tools > Options > OS Integration.
