4.1.0.1609: Selecting external player not working

Re: 4.1.0.1609: Selecting external player not working
Unable to get an Oppo BDP-103 to play as a DMR. It will play as a DMP. MM sees it as a device. Running build 1617.
Re: 4.1.0.1609: Selecting external player not working
Are you sure that denon do not request whole file cached before it starts playback, I have read somewhere that FLAC is tricky to stream over DLNA and that delays are normal especially on 100Mbit LAN and Wi-Fi is even slower.joltman wrote:I just wanted to reply that I'm using 4.1.1616 and trying to play FLACs to my Denon AVR-3312CI. I have created a playlist and when a new song comes up, it can take several seconds (more than 25 seconds) for the new song to start playing.
I have not seen players that play DRM without any problems DRM is always gamble.ajaxmike wrote:Unable to get an Oppo BDP-103 to play as a DMR. It will play as a DMP. MM sees it as a device. Running build 1617.

FWIW, I've been streaming FLAC into MMA over UPnP and it's been working well. No delays noticed, whether streaming thru MM4.1 or straight from the NAS.Peke wrote:I have read somewhere that FLAC is tricky to stream over DLNA and that delays are normal especially on 100Mbit LAN and Wi-Fi is even slower.
Even with the Galaxy Tab's mediocre DAC and a mini-stereo system, the difference is noticeable between FLAC and MP3.

Same issue with Windows Media Player. I suspect the Oppo or some sort of network security block.ajaxmike wrote:Unable to get an Oppo BDP-103 to play as a DMR. It will play as a DMP. MM sees it as a device. Running build 1617.

I'm not sure how the Denon requests the file. I highly doubt that it caches the whole file, as some of the HD Flacs can get into the 100MB range. My whole network is gigabit, but I'd imagine the Denon is only 100Mb.
What can I do to help verify how the Denon requests the file? WireShark?
Re: 4.1.0.1609: Selecting external player not working
For some odd reason, MM is now controlling my Oppo 103, when it didn't before. Perhaps a reboot fixed it I don't know. MM is a DMC and the Oppo is a DMR. There is a slightly longer delay than playing locally, but no biggie. The only thing I have noticed is that it sometimes crashes when trying to find a file and the Oppo then disappears as a player until I reboot. I will try to isolate the problems.

And then capture the crash in a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

I will do that when it hangs.Lowlander wrote:And then capture the crash in a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341
However, when I opened MM this morning and tried to play to the DMR (oppo BDP-103), MM does not list the player.I can ping the player via it's IP address but not via its device name. Both machines get their IP address from DHCP on the router. Rebooting the MM machine did not help.

Hmmm, very interesting Player. Too bad it is not available in my area. Anyway are you using latest firmware?

1220, yes. BTW, it is recognizing the player at the moment. Who know for how long.

For those who have some problems with external players, be sure that you are testing the latest build (4.1.0.1622: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 50#p358279 ) that fixes several issues that have been described earlier in this long thread.

Hi,
I´m testing on a Naim SuperUniti with Build 1622.
Playing Files from the Media Server node werks perfectly. Not so from the MM Library. I can select and play files from the MM DLNA Server if I operate that directly from the SuperUniti, but I´m not able to play the selected track directly from MM.
However if I start a track at the SuperUniti I can play and pause it from within MM. Volume control works too.

Just send a debug log and now I found out, that MM uses the wrong network connection. I disabled all network connections incept the one that points into the network with the player and it works.
How can I tell MM to use the right network connection?
