I have an album with tracks that MMA won't progress to, but the tracks play ok if I select them manually from the play list.
It is consistently reproducible.
I queue the whole album. It plays but skips some tracks. Same tracks each time. ... Tracks don't play, MMW play count|date not incremented for the skipped tracks. Nothing in the MMW scrobble log for the skipped tracks. ... But if I tap on the tracks on the Now Playing list, they play ok.
I am playing via UPnP with MMW as the source.
The skipped tracks are not contiguous; ie. tracks 2, 7 & 10.
I haven't noticed it with any other album, but I haven't been looking for the issue either.
The tracks are flac. I ripped it myself. The rip log shows no issue. My other equipment plays the tracks ok.
I have FLAC as Supported format at Options|Library|MediaSharing, and all Auto-Conversion rules are unchecked. If I look at the track properties via MMA it shows a flac file extension.
MMW 4.1.0.1630
MMA 1.0.4.0121
Why would these tracks be consistently skipped, but playable by tapping on them in the MMA Now Playing list?

Re: UPnP from a MMW source skips some playable tracks
I am playing a different album with the same problem. I queued the album. It played track 1, but then skipped to track 3. I went to the Now Playing list, tapped on track 2, and it played without problem.
The Now Playing list shows the tracks in the expected sequence.

MMW: 1636
MMA: 127
I have reported this before, but saw no discussion so I guess that it is just me. Is there anything I can do to further document this, as it makes MMA unusable for me.
There are tracks skipped in nearly every album that I play. Usually multiple tracks skipped. I say "nearly every album" because I haven't checked every album that I have played via MMA, but every album that I have checked, skipped some tracks during playback. I have retried some of the albums, and the same tracks are skipped upon replay.
If I switch across to BubbleUPnP using same android device, same WiFi, same tracks, same TOD, same media server ... the album plays through all tracks w/o problem.
If I tap on a missed track on the MMA list, available from the Now Playing screen, the track then plays ok.
Nexus 7. MMA playing from MMW server via UPnP.
Nexus screen off, MMA was left sitting at the Now Playing screen.
Playing flac files, w/o transcoding.
Source is MMW, but the same thing happens when the source is the DLNA player on my NAS. ... BubbleUpnp is not gettingtranscoding either ... it reports that it is playing a flac file.
MMW confirms the tracks played and missed by MMA (last playdate). I can also see that the tracks are missing from the MMW LFM scrobble cache, as I have it set to cache scrobbles.
I confirm that BubbleUpNp plays all tracks ok via MMW lastplaydate, or SimpleLastfm when playing from the DLNA server on my NAS.
AFAIK I have no problems with my WiFi link. I use the tablet extensively and haven't noticed other issues.
I have a Sonos system, and the Sonos Zones act as WiFi hotspots. My tablet is connected to the Sonos network.

The Sonos units are wired to my router via Ethernet. There is a Sonos unit in each of the rooms I am testing in, so the WiFi only has to travel a few feet.

So far I can't reproduce with 127. You may want to capture the failure in a MMW debug log: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... f=21&t=341

send debug logs via ticket SWT-722081
I feel that the problem is at the MMA end, as I get the issue whether MMA is accessing either MMW or the DLNA server which is running on my NAS.
BubbleUpNp experiences no problem with neither.
In the attached log tracks 5 & 7 were skipped. Track 9 was also skipped after the log snapshot sent. Last night tracks 2,5 & 9 were skipped on the same album.
This issue happens with all albums that I play with MMA via UpNp

Re: UPnP play skips (lots of) tracks
Is there a chance that WiFi is falling asleep? I see this happen frequently with UPnP playback; if I remember, I set the Wi-Fi to never sleep, and then MMA stays awake. You're right that other apps, like last.fm, like UPnPlay, keep the connection alive. Once in a while, a song just stops dead because the last part of it hadn't been cached while the Wi-Fi was up.

I'll try anything.mcow wrote:Is there a chance that WiFi is falling asleep? I see this happen frequently with UPnP playback; if I remember, I set the Wi-Fi to never sleep, and then MMA stays awake.
I had the Android "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" set to Always.
And had WiFi Optimisation set to "Optimise battery usage when WiFi is on" checked.

I loaded version 128, and no longer seem to have this problem.
