LPCM conversion support

Post by Guest »

I am trying out media monkey after being a foobar user for many users, I would like to purchase as it can do nearly everything foobar can (wasapi, replaygain, upnp), but the upnp section is the area that falls slightly short. I have an all flac collection, if I want to play music over a device like 360 for whatever reason the only lossless conversion option that plays on the 360 is lpcm, I cannot get wav to work. In foobar upnp you have the same options as media monkey but lpcm as well, I would very much like to see this conversion streaming option added to media monkey if possible.

Thank you.

Just an update I noticed I can select wma loseless for 360, but if i ever stream to an apple device, or ps3, this wont work, lpcm seemed to universally work with everything i tried. I am not sure if their is anyway i can specify rules for specific players either?

You can do exactly that as of 4.1.

Just wondering if this is a dead feature request, a year later and i would still like to see this for us using loseless over dlna. I have media monkey set to convert my flac to wav since wav is more compatible, but lpcm would be much nicer as almost anything uses it and im getting quite a bit of MM crashes converting to wav after playing the first song.

You should capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=69
