Art & Details issue [#10616]

Either in this version or in a recent other version the functionality of left clicking the art work to get a full size preview seems to have broken
Was this by design - I used to find this very helpful in quickly seeing the quality (or lack of) of my album artwork.
I tested using an earlier build - 1637 and that works fine.

That's unfortunate. I'd really prefer how it was. I don't care about lyrics. Onward and upward I suppose.

I am a bit disappointed too. I really enjoyed being able to click on the artwork and having it blow up to the full resolution of the embedded artwork. Is there any chance of making it an option to behave this way? I imagine tullyelly and I are not the only ones who feels this way.

Oh i agree. I think this was one of those mistakes that devs make ... probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

So in order to have a large version of my artwork i have to make my screen big ALL THE TIME or keep resizing as I want to see. Neither seems user friendly but there you go. Not sure actual *users* were asked <G>

Annoyed by the change as well.

EDIT: I think I found a "fix" for those that don't use the Details at all. Just edit the fields shown, and untick everything. When "Show Details" is enabled, there's none to show... so you're just left with the artwork portion you see if you have fields enabled and the module large enough. Click... boom, big artwork.

EDIT 2: It might just me, but there seems to be a delay now in bringing up the artwork window which I don't recall before. When you clicked the artwork, it seems like it was more "snappy" in bringing up the larger artwork.

I appreciate the workaround, but one thing I like about MM is that I can have the details and also click on the album art and make it bigger for close-up viewing. For me, checking out the album art goes hand in hand with listening to an album.

Huh. The workaround was working last night when I posted that. Now... it's not doing it. Ugh.

Agreed - whilst the workaround is fine on my new lappie (cause larger screen) it dont work to well on me netbook

I do agree that there are issues with this new functionality.

I do like the single click to toggle between metadata overlay on and off, its the double click action that drives me batty.

In my mind if the metadata overlay is off, then the double click action should be that the full sized art is displayed.
If the metadata overlay is on then the double click action should open the properties dialog. I like that if lyrics exist it opens the lyrics tab.

I think you're right about that, it's my understanding (based on reading the mantis issue) that the design is supposed to be that if metadata is showing, and you double click on it, it should open the properties window. So in the case that no metadata is showing, it makes sense to bring up the art instead.
