I'm running the gold version and am frustrated that a 3TB drive is being scanned unnecessarily using up resources. I have uninstalled, cleaned the registry, deleted all mm directories etc... There are no folders being monitored. I have 3 removable drives connected to my desktop, but only 1 keeps scanning. It is a backup drive. I haven't completed tagging my library yet so I add folders as I need them, delete the files and move on.
What do I have to do to stop this particular drive from being scanned?

Can you please elaborate what you meant with "scanned unnecessarily using up resources" eg. what resources and how did you find that out? If needed open support ticket and create debug log http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=2&t=341

Re: Keeping scanning a removeable drive
In my media tree, it shows the drive as "scanning" and I can hear my drive chugging away. Since it is 3TB filled with media, it goes on and on.
Re: Keeping scanning a removeable drive
In your add/scan window is scan at startup checked? This will cause it to chug away. I have 3 externals (4t,2 3t) and a nas (4) which are set for "Scan Continuously" but i see very little drive activity.

Re: Keeping scanning a removeable drive
Thanks for the replies. I finally figured out that there was a directory in the roaming folder. So I uninstalled deleted that folder and when reinstalled unchecked everything again and it no longer scans. Would have preferred the defaults be none to allow you to manually select instead of the other way around and it would appear if you do add a drive, it always remembers it whether you deselect or not.
Re: Keeping scanning a removeable drive
Folder Monitoring is something that needs to be enabled by the user. You may have done so in the past.
