Are you sure nothing (no service/no MM) is running (Ludek indicated it can block access to the DB).
You could try relocating the DB and using the following to access it: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ticleid=46

Re: DLNA server acting up again - 1671
At one point i went into resource manager and looked at memory. There were 4 marked as mediamoneky.exe ???
What I finally had to do is to
1) go into services and set manual so it wouldn't start on reboot
2) reboot computer so that no service running and everything was *fresh*
3) deleted the mm.db
4) started mmw ... it came up blank.
5) tools-options UNINSTALL SERVICE!
6) exit mmw
7) copied back one of the last db's i found from all the bad backups (another topic)
started MM
and it read the file just fine ... or seems to. I exited then restarted and all was *fine*.
Don't think I will run the service again
I will look at the link you posted.
Thanks

1) yes i was sure. I STOP the service and I had shut down MMWLowlander wrote:Are you sure nothing (no service/no MM) is running (Ludek indicated it can block access to the DB).

2) you say 'You could try relocating the DB' .. there is only 1 db on the system as I have indicated previously ... it is in the correct location with the ini and other supporting files.
Currently it looks like getting rid of the service has allowed it to read the file ...

As Ludek indicated, that the service was locking the DB.dtsig wrote:Currently it looks like getting rid of the service has allowed it to read the file

I guess the real question is WHY? I wasn't having this specific problem when I noted the beginning of this topic. It started after I uninstalled and reinstalled using my credentials.
Definitely something smelly in Denmark (hope none of you are from Denmark

[BUG] 1672 Problem with Service Install
So to follow up on my last topic about 1671 i had uninstalled the service.
I downloaded 1672 and installed.
I went to tools/options/dlna
I clicked INSTALL SERVICE
I was prompted for my users password. i entered
No response from system.
... no install success message box
... the button did not change to UNINSTALL service
I started task manager and looked in services. As you can see from the attached image there is now a service (not running because it should not be while mmw is running ... man does that start problems
) But the image of the tools/options/dlna shows that the button does not seem to know that the service is installed. Looks like a couple more bugs

Re: [BUG] 1672 Problem with Service Install
after i shut down mmw and restarted the button had become UNINSTALL. So at least the 'install successful' didn't work and wonder why the button didn't change right away as before
