Great that you've made some progress - I've had to uninstall for the time being, due to the battery issue, but would love for this app to be usable again (on my phone).

Although I continue to use MMA I am not sure why it automatically starts. I did a reboot and MMA started right away. I have not played anything on my phone but here it is. BUT after the reboot the battery is sustaining a charge better.

Thank you all for your patient. Deletion of DB when storage is unmounted will be fixed in next build (213 or later).

But if you will observe some of these issues (when tracks from unmounted storage disappears or playlists become empty), please send me immediately logs (Options->Send logs) and post log ID here. Thank you all !

You have a widget that probably causes MMA start. MMA has to be initiated. There are also some system events that causes MMA to start and update its database.

But do you observe that MMA fails to stop ? What time do you have set in Options->Show in notification bar ? If MMA is running and inactive (i.e. no track is played) longer than you have set, please do following:

1. Reboot
2. MMA will start on background as you said, right ?
3. Wait the set time (That you can see in Options->Show in notification bar) + some extra 5 minutes
4. MMA is still running ? If yes, start MMA from launcher and go to Options->Send logs and please post the generated log ID here.

I will see why MMA fails to stop. Thank you!

AFAIK, I do not have a widget that should be causing MMA to start. Have not loaded any auto-start widgets and have not set any widget to auto-start MMA. Of course this does not mean some app isn't causing it. Since I haven't found "start MMA automatically" widget I might have to start deleting apps until it stops :)

No. Don't do it. It is not necessary. I didn't mean some third party widget. I meant MMA widget. If you don't have any, it can be caused by system events. Most probably it is an event about mounted storage that cause MMA to start and refresh its database on background. This is not an issue and it is not caused by any third party app. This way it is implemented in mma.

The main issue that still remains is that mma fails to stop. The issue that MMA scanned whole library on reboot is already fixed and will be in next build. If you observe that mma fails to stop please follow the steps from previous post and send me the logs. Thanks

Hi

I am using version 214 on my Sony Xperia Z (Android 4.2.2).
Today I started my Xperia without using any MM functionality.
After about 1 hour I noticed that 34% of the battery consumption was caused by MM.

I do have a widget on the home screen and I don't mind that MM has started
BUT I assume 34% while NOT using MM is a bit much!?

I also have activated sync with my PC but no MM was running so there was nothing to sync.

Any ideas?
Are there additional infos I can provide?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

1. First, please look whether you see MM in running applications (without running it from launcher)?
2. Then, could you please send me logs from Options-> Send logs as soon as possible ? Post log ID here.
3. What value do you have set in Options->Show in notification bar ?

Thanks!

What I can say is that I had the possibility to 'force stop' the application (which I did).

7AVKA7COC7 but I don't know if this is of any help - I already restarted MM since then
(I will try to reproduce the problem and send you a fresh log)

another log: CG2EDYA0YX
6 minutes after the device powered up
MediaMonkey: 32% battery of battery consumption
CPU: 4m42s
active: 2m42s

I will stop now sending logs until you request more ;-)
Hope there was a hint inside one of them.
