Now Playing list and Playlist Numbering

Postby Lowlander » Sat Sep 06, 2003 6:23 pm

I would like to see a seperate column for the number a song has on the list. Now thats put in front of the song title. I rarely have the title in the first column, so it looks weird.

Now Playing / Playlist numbering

We're planning on fixing this--the current numbers are a bit of a usability issue (since the numbers appear to be part of the title).

Great

That's good to hear. And that's exactly what I thought when I first started using the program.

Hope to see it worked out in one of the future releases of MM.

though lowlanders request is old, it's still a very good one. (i remember that there where several other threads regarding this topic)

it would be a great improvement if the #s get their own column (especially for playlists and "now playing")
think about it: if the #s are in their own columns it could even be possible to sort the "now playing" window (and playlists too) by clicking on the column headers of the listview without changeing the song order permanently. if the user then drag&drops something, the order could be saved. this would make reordering "now playing" and playlists much easier.

one thing i just noticed: viewing the tracks in most nodes (eg. artist) there is no number in front of the title, but if you view songs through Artist-<Artist Name>-<Album Name> there are. which i find rather akward since those numbers are the same as <Track #> which has its own column and should therefore be used.

btw. regarding "fixed" issues: read this thread, "fixed" since 2.3 ;)

best regards

Unfortunately some features get lost. This still bugs me, so I'm waiting patiently since version 2.3.

Warm up

I have to rehash this thread.
What's about the separate column for sequential numbers in Now Playing (and MM Playlists)?
When the order of tracks is changed with one click on a column header, there is no way (exept Undo) to rebuild the original order.
I know, this feature is not supported in m3u, but in internal PLs it would be very useful.

shall I open a poll?

Any updates on this? I absolutely loathe the fact that MM puts these numbers in front of my track titles, and I can't belive that it still hasn't been addressed after all these years...
